I've heard the more cards you use, the better it is for your rating. Is that true or not?

I just don't want to keep track of 3 different bills every months, and it seems easier to get rewards if you use everything on one card.

My manager was furious with me when I handed her my polite resignation letter. She was aware of my job application to another company, and I had asked her permission prior to putting her name forward as a referee(which she agreed to do). Her anger was directed towards the fact that some of my colleagues were aware of my interview success before her. However, I made an appointment to see her on the same day that I received my formal job offer, so feel I could not have acted any quicker. She would not take my letter from me, and did not acknowledge my hard work over previous 4 years. Am I right to feel aggrieved, or should I let this go? I'm considering contacting the Human Resources dept to complain about her behaviour, but do not want to act 'over the top'. Any advice please? Thankyou.

I've had several abusive bosses over the years, and I often wonder if they actually think that they're improving either their own situation or that of their employees by being verbally abusive. After all, their behavior does anything but engender respect from their employees or promote a positive work atmosphere. One would think that they would realize they're doing something wrong if they have employees who walk out on them out of the blue. Plus, one would also think that they would realize that a positive work atmosphere promotes greater productivity.

This is the story. I was at a friends house a few blocks from my home, and we were playing catch with a footall. I went to pass it to him but he was running the wrong way and it bounced off the ground and hit the window, breaking one pane of glass. Its the type on window thats onver the door that is a semi-circle. I told them it was me and they want me to pay 500. I told them i'm not paying nothing unless i see a written estimate. The next day the owner called and said they got and estimate for 600-700 dollars. I said I want to see the written estimate. Then today, he called again and said he got the estimate from Home Depot and it would cost 1,500. It think thats a little bizzare going from 500 to 1500. They also want me to give 200 up front with no paper work or estamite. I told them to get three estimates but he's going to the most expensive places. I wanted to know if i can get my own estimate and if i should pay or wait until they file a complaint.

My husband and I want to flip our current house so that when we sell it we can get some extra money to fix up a house that we are about to move into. We both have bad credit (his a little worse than mine) and we need to know the easiest way to get a loan, or a finacial backer to help out.

I have some music gear that has good resale value; I can probably sell it and get almost what I paid for it. At this point I am unable to write these expenses off (a couple grand) because the government would consider it more of a hobby than a business.

Should I sell this gear and then buy it later after I'm able to say my band is a business? Or should I bite the bullet and keep it?

I also understand I'm also able to write-off gear year after year that I had bought in previous years. I can't remember the term for this, but how much would I be able to write off under this clause?

Advice to help me a poor student save some bucks is appreciated!

Not too long ago, I read in a book about resume writing that it's not necessary to put down EVERY job you've ever had on your resume, especially if it doesn't pertain to the position you're seeking. However, if that's the case, does that also mean that I can omit certain jobs from my work history on a job application?

I work in a VERY negative atmosphere! I work in a truck stop that's full of gossipy, hateful shrews who remind me that I don't fit in. Also, I have a boss who yelled at us, glared at us, and threatened us at the last meeting, because some of us had failed to perform certain tasks we didn't know we were supposed to do. I cannot stand being talked down to like some child who's misbehaved! For that matter, I wouldn't even talk to a child like that myself, and actually if I did, I would be accused of verbal abuse. I work two jobs as it is. This is my full-time job and I earn $6.75 an hour there. I also work 15 hours a week at another job where I earn $12 an hour. I live alone and I'm the only source of income I have. Part of me is hesitant to call in and say that I'm finished with them, but another part of me wants to tell them all to just go to hell. If I called in and told them that I quit, could I just go to a temp agency on Monday and try to find something there? What do you suggest?

We built our 3000 sq ft home in 1994. It appraises at approximately $240,000. A corn processing plant built across the street within five years of our building. Yes they have the permits that we fought. Living is miserable here with the dirt, traffic, dust, noise, and traffic, etc. We have put our house on the market twice but cannot get any offers or any lookers. Can the factory be held liable for damages or at least for the loss we have to take if we could get a bottom dollar offer.

He just raised the rent a $ 100. The lease hasn't been renewed in 6 years and they are now in a month to month lease. The realtor keeps coming with clients to see the apartment and my parents refuse to show the place because they don't want people to intrude their privacy. Is there anyone here that can help Please. The matter might come down to court. Any lawyers or people with the simar situation please.

On my resume, I do Bullets. Every new responbility I have I put a new bullet. Now for my Real Estate Asst, I don't know it would be.. let me show you what I mean

• Filing Papers
• Data Entry
• Schedule/Reschedule/Confirm Appointments
• Marketing (by this I mean making the flyers for "just sold" or "just listed" or open house flyers to mass mail)
• Open Houses

okay you get where I'm going with the bullets?

1. Errands (pick up or drop off lockboxes, stock flyer boxes, pick up or return listing keys, check vacant properties and tidy up where needed)
HOW DO I WORD THAT, BECAUSE I DO THE BULLETS, SO HOW DO I WORD ALL OF THAT?

2. Basic Office Admin (make copies, keep files clean and current, keep calendar current, follow up on showings for feedback, take pictures of listings, enter listings into local MLS, pull up listings on MLS)
SO WOULD I LABEL IT AS A SINGLE/MULTI BULLET RESPONSIBILITY???

Thanks in advance!!

I know that currently the IRS standard for gas mileage reimbursement is .48 cents per mile. Is it mandatory for an employer to reimburse at this amount? What is the IRS intent behind setting the reimbursement amount at this amount? When When I cut reimbursement checks for employees in the firm it seems like a lot of money for driving to and from Office X. The IRS must have intended that the reimbursement cover more than just gas. Does anyone know of specific sources?

So I just received my score from the rural carrier exam, I scored a 91.9 and I had no verteran status. Do I have a good chance of getting a call for an interview? Is it possible to score over 100 if you were a veteran? If any of you took the test and got hired, could you tell me what score you had? Thanks!

My family was planning to relocate to another state. We found a house loved it, sent a non-refundable "holding deposit" and signed a 1-yr lease with a term from 11/07/07 (when we planned to move in) to 11/2008. Plans got pushed back so we couldnt move into the home by that time. Never even had keys to the house. Owner sent me letter stating that I would be responsible for monthly rent until they find someone else to rent it since i "vacated the premises before the lease was up!????". Even though we never got keys/moved in..Is this legal?
