I am a 5'8" 300lb female and I work in a call center. I have been off work since Monday. When I went to work last night I found that my chair had been taken away and in place of it was a new chair. Unlike my old dusty purple colored chair, this new chair was bright red and doesn't have any arms. I asked my supervisor what happened to my chair and she said she didn't know that some peoples chairs were changed. Upon looking around the only chairs that were different were that of the people who are my size and larger. I asked why this happened and was told that it was a safety issue. On the side, another employee said that they heard that it was because we break the chairs. I have been sitting in the same chair for the past 3 years. I feel like a target in this big red chair with no arm rests. I want to get my old chair back or have other people have chairs like mine. What can I do?

Our policy is that if someone orders made to measure gowns, there is no refund because they cannot be sold to anyone else, being as the measurments are to the individual. Anyway this bride to be has given me so much hassle and now, harrassment, I offered a refund but stated she would have to wait a while before I sent the money through. She has decided she does not want the dresses and I refused to remake the third one as the measurements for this girl had changed - she had hotten bigger in her waist. We have been pefectly nice to these girls, and I know they want the dresses right for the wedding, but we are a small bridal studio working from home, we cannot aford refunds on m2m dresses. What do you think I should do, as she is just being nasty, the value of her order was nearly £280, and she returned two dresses we made for her unopened.

I am buying this house through an FHA loan. The inspector said that the house needed to be painted, some rotting boards needed to be replaced and a tree needed to be trimmed. We planned to do this when we moved in but it has to be done before it closes. The seller would take care of it but is strapped for cash. He has offered to take a certain amount of the selling price to fix the problems stated. What can I do to get this house?

I wanted to attend this property auction but I have some questions. First off let's say the property address and the owner address are the same. I am going to assume the owner still lives at the site. If this is so, do I then have to go through the eviction process if i win the bidding? Secondly, let's say I win the bidding on a house for $10,000. I pay the money and the property is mine right? Are there any hidden costs such as if the people owe a mortgage, will I also assume that cost? Will any other costs be disclosed at the time of the auction? Help please! Thanks!

Me and my wife, around a month ago had a substance abuse problem. Since then we have been clean. And are trying to fix our outstanding debts. I recently have been reading on here about how serious bad checks are. And having 10 out ourselves I'am scared my wife or me may open our door to a police officer one day soon. I'am trying to find ways to pay these bad checks off asap. I just want to know if most places will send a return check to a prosicuting attorney and if so will you recieve notice in time to pay before being arrested. I' am serious about paying my debts back and the last thing I need right now is for my wife to go to jail.

and before you answer, keep the following in mind.

Over the past 5 years, hundreds of big companies have cut thousands of jobs. I'm sure when you hear the news, you think, "those poor saps". But do you realize the flak that these job cuts cause?

Here is a partial list of companies that have announced either downsizing, or off shoring THIS YEAR ALONE.

HP, Kodak, Pfizer, Ford, GM, Chrysler, Hershey's, MascoTech, Dell (moved support to India), Best Buy, GMAC financing, Bank of America, Cisco, Krogers, Farmer Jack, multiple management levels at Home Depot, WalMart.

Now, realize that it is a proven fact that for every one good paying job that leaves your area, your local area also loses 3-5 outside jobs. Jobs that depended on the cash from the above companies employees buying things.

Hair salons, grocery stores, retail stores, accountants, doctors, dentists, lawyers, gas station attendants.

So I ask you, is YOUR job really "safe" right now? And why do you think so?

I lived in Nebraska in 2006 and opened an account with Aspen, trying to build up my credit. I moved to Iowa in Aug 06 and they began sending my statements there. When I moved again within Iowa and called to tell them, they told me they do not service Iowa, and closed my account. And to boot, they socked me with a $100 annual fee in July. Why would they service an account in one state, but not another? Also, can I rightfully duspute the $100 fee? Can I rightfully dispute their $6.50 monthly account maintenance fee, since they closed my account? Also, since it was closed, will it reflect negatively on me if I continue to pay until it is paid off? If they would have closed my account last year when they were notified I moved to 'a state they do not service' I would have never incurred the fee. I would ask a CSR, but none of them speak English very well. I thought about writing a letter to the dispute department.

This position would require me to relocate, so I confirmed that I would be taking the position, and they've confirmed the salary, relocation, sign-on bonus over the phone. I followed up earlier in the week and their HR advised that he had just received the final signature and the offer letter/package was being overnighted to me. That was Monday, today is Saturday. We had confirmed my start date and I have already given my two weeks in my current position. I plan to call and follow up again on Monday, but I am worried that this is taking so long!

I made a loan to a person and they are paying me back . This was for a loan to help them purchase property. My question is this. Are the payments I recieve considered additional income that I have to pay taxes on. I paid tax on the money once and loaned it out. There is no interest involved but if they pay me back $40,000 all at once when they get their loan, is my money I loaned them considered additional income that I have to pay taxes on again?
