My boyfriend and I are thinking about renting a house...
I know you have to pay rent but I was wondering what other bills and what sort of price range to expect...

We worked out
- Electricity/gas
-Water
- Phone
- Internet (he wants cable)
and food...
But how much would each cost, even a general idea would help alot...
Have I missed any bills?

Any responses would be greatly appreciated!
*hugs*

Psst ... I will let you in on a little secret ...

If you call the utility companies and ask them about a specific address, they will tell you what the average monthly bill was in the previous year. That way you can put some hard numbers down when trying to figure out your monthly expenses.

Water is usually taken care of by the landlord, but not always. You also might want to think about renter insurance to cover any losses you might incur from theft or disaster. Since you are talking about renting a house you might be responsible for cutting the grass so you should add that to the tally too.

I pay roughly $130 per month on electricity. My gas is propane here and it runs at about $600 to fill the tank. I do not pay a water bill, but we did at the old house and it was around $60. The phone is $45 with long distance. Cable net was $29.99. I have satellite now which is $49.99. I buy about $200 in food every 2 weeks. Sometimes more. GOOD LUCK!!!

Usually you have to pay for electricity, gas, (if applicable) water is usually included in rent, trash pick up is usually included in utility bill, (phone, internet and cable) are usually all with one company and cost about 115.00 per month. Food of course, Your landlord pays for maintenance, and hopefully he has supplied a refridgerator and stove. I have no idea how much your electric and gas bills would be because I don't know where you live and they could be quite high if you have electric heat and a bit lower if you have gas heat. It depends on what part of the country you live in. Good luck

The cost of those bills will really depend on your location, and how much you use them, so I can't really say much on that.

You missed the garbage bill though, gotta pay those guys to pick up your crap every week. Other than that I think you've gotten them all.

Besides the bills living in a house cost more because you have the outdoors so need garbage cans, hoses and things you don't need in an apartment.

first of all you need to tell your contemporary landlord which you're making plans on leaving around such and this way of date so as that they might start up lining up new renters besides. once you bypass see the abode in case you recognize you prefer it tell them appropriate away, do no longer enable somebody take it remote from you. in case you're no longer particular then tell them you need to think of roughly it. in case you notice issues that trouble you talk it with them, they could be keen to repair it for you. tell them once you need to be out of the different place and ask whilst they like lease and deposit and all that relaxing money stuff. as quickly as you pay the keys are yours to bypass into it at your entertainment. you need to examine the contract thouroughly and be certain how long the lease if for. you are able to harm a lease in case you need to bypass away for some reason notwithstanding that's greater suited to no longer so as which you get a greater suited reference once you progression on. it somewhat is on the subject of the run down. that's going to all artwork out, you purely ought to do it one step at a time. solid success.
