Due to the fact my daughter and my hubby were both paid that day and his checks range each pay day from 3100-4500 and hers are min wage checks but I didnt catch the error cause I always have good money in there and rarly keep a regiister which is my fault but now here 2 months later I have a benk error withdrawl saying they made error. I found the error they are correct but this hit me surprisingly now I could go in the hole cause of it due to that fact I wrote a check for a car on Friday. So if anyone can find a site to help me know if they can just do this since it has been 2 months now...NO I AM NOT TRYING TO KEEP THERE MONEY...

If you have a bank account and there is an error on the account then most banks set their own time limit. You have a contract with them and that is disclosed to you when you open an account with them and that is why their is online banking, and they send you statements so if there is an error it can be fixed.
That being said most banks have a 60 to 90 day limit on fixing bank errors.

If the bank caught it and not you then they have probably already fixed it.

It doesn't matter if it was their error or yours. And there is no laws for time limits. They might take off the over drawn charge, but they also don't have to. It could actually be a lot worse, because it is your responsibilty to keep track of your account, they could charge you with theft, since you never reported it before.

Take this as a learning lesson and keep track of your account, most banks even have stuff online.

If it's money that was rightfully not yours, the bank certainly can make that correction at any time. My advice...start keeping that check register and if you have on-line banking, reconcile it every day. Bank errors happen all the time and with the volume of transactions being made, it can take two months or longer for the correction.

As long as the bank caught the error themselves,it`s probably a good bet they have your account squared away now. (I`d say your check from Fri. is fine)If you bank online you can check your balance, too)

You need to learn to balance/reconcile your own checking account. If the bank made a million dollar error to your benefit, would you spend it and then complain about it ?

This is called personal responsibility.

There is no time limit for these sorts of things. They are completely within their rights to take the money back.
