I know in the state of Texas, when BUYING a home, this information has to be disclosed, but I'm not sure about a lease.

Rick...top contributor...this isn't for me, as I live in Texas...this is for a friend of a friend who lives in Oklahoma...but I appreciate your concern and the time you took to answer my question.

Generally, such occurrences do not require disclosure. As long as any property damage from the situation is properly remediated, there is no effect on the quality of the property.

Remember, you are renting the premises and not renting the history of the premises.

Leasing a home requires no disclosure of such information. Its more of a who needs to know type of situation, Out of courtesy to you though you should have at least been told something happened and you could have taken it from there. You may have to go to court and explain to the judge that since you were not told there may be a health concern that could arise and you are wondering if you could be let out of the lease in regards to health matters,

I think it has to be told to the next renter, A guy hung himself nextdoor to me and someone just moved in I should ask
