My realtor said I had to pay for house insurance one yr in advance, which on the closing day I did. But when I get my mortgage payment stub, on the Escrow account it says part of the payment will go to house insurance, why is that? Am i paying twice for it?

Which do you perfer? In my area it seems Sams has lower prices and nicer employees and customers. Costco is pricier and most of the customers are rude. Just wondering what everyone else thinks......

Just curious. I've been unemployed/underemployed for two years. I have a long, diverse, steady work background ranging from general labor/factory experience to various office positions (clerical, proofreading, order entry/customer, etc.); I've also got really good references from former co-workers and bosess, although I kind of left my last "real" employer on bad terms (about the time my appearance issue "developed" come to think of it. I thought maybe I needed to learn new job skills or hone up on my interview skills since I'm in my late-thirties, so I returned to school to pursue a new career path; I breezed through the year-long program with a 4.0 gpa and was assured by the instructors my work skills, interview skills, etc. were very good. I've been on so many interviews where I'm qualified or over-qualified for the job and cannot seem to land anything.
By the way, the ailment I'm talking about is a benign skin condition on the side and back of my scalp that appears inflammed.

I just got back from a job interview. After the interview process they sent me for a drug test. On the paper work it stated the reason for the drug test was "post job offer"
When this was done the interviewer stated that the job was contingent with the drug test and the criminal background check results. Does this mean that the job is mine if these tests come back normal?

The lease says I am responsible for yard maintenance and so I mow the lawn and trim the hedges, but these are big maple trees we're talking about (30+ feet tall) and will require hiring a professional tree service.

When I turned 18 I made the huge mistake of applying for every credit card anyone would ever give me. Now I am 22 and have a boat load of debt including judgements, collections, student loans, car loans, pay day loans, etc. Totalling 40,000.00 plus!!!! I want to know if bankruptcy would be good route for me as my credit is already poor. Can it make it any worse?

Currently I work as a Graphic Designer in Tucson, AZ. the job market here for my line of work isn't great and the pay at my current place of employment also isn't great. I'm looking to move out to the east coast in hopes of getting a job there and also being close to family. My problem is with the resumes I am sending out to companies out there I get no response, while if I send the same resume to jobs in my area I get plenty of response. Is it due to my location? should I move first then look for a job? Any advice in finding a job when out of state or even convincing someone to interview you even though you're not currently in state?

Just want to know your experiences, good and bad, with both equipment and companies. Which terminals are good? I'd love to have wireless/check processing but for now I'm going to have to start with a very basic dial-up one. Thanks in advance.

Today's announcement that the pound sterling is at a 26 year high against the US$ (it is now well over $2 to the £) reminded me that, when I was a child, (many years ago, I am Very Old Person) the rule of thumb was always $3 to the pound. Do you think we'll get there again ?

I am currently on a home title with an ex fiance and I was wondering since I have been paying the mortgage on the house and the property taxes (he is not living in the house, I am in pocession) for 2 years going on 3, when the home is sold, can i take more of a cut of the profits since I am the one maintaining the house, and paying the above? Also If I add value to the house by doing improvements, can I take a cut from his profit of the sale of the home as well?

I have been asked to become someone's power of attorney. They are in the process of selling their home and making a little profit. They are also anticipating a long, drawn out legal battle for something else. If they have no funds available in their account(s), am I responsible to pay their debts, being their power of attorney?

My spouse and I both work and we earn a decent amount ( between 32-34K each a year) but we have this enormous amount of old debt. We would like to buy the house we are renting (owner is renting with option to buy) in about 2 1/2 years but with our debt it is impossible to even think about buying a home. We can't even finance a car, much less buy a home. I am at my wits end because I am tired of the situation. I feel that we earn enough to pay something but alot of these companies want full payment. I don't want to go to a debt couseling program because most aren't reputable and I haven't met one person who has completed it. I just don't know what to do, my spouses car is now dead and I can't get a car financed nor do I want to. We already have a high car payment and our monthly bills. We do have money left over every week I mean, we buy everything cash. And we always have money in the bank so I know there has to be an answer. Please help us.

So hubby and his brothers/sisters all own their mothers house close to Lake Michigan. A year ago last January, we put it up for sale....almost two years later and it is still for sale. We started at 96,900 and are now down to 73,000. We have put money into the house but it still needs a little work and some personal touches. My question is, do you think if we take it off the market for a short period and put it back on with another Realtor, we would have better luck?

For the full 21 months the house has been for sale, we have had the same Realtors. I personally really like them and they are always helping me when I need anything. I had an opportunity to work with them on a business level as well and they are just great people. Even hubby is now suggesting that maybe we need a new realtor. His brothers/sisters are pushing him, but I don't know. I really like the ones we have, they just havent sold our headache!
