Savings accounts are yielding 5%+, and for short- to mid-range investment I'm not seeing comparable yield. Yet all the investment pros say "Don't put it in the bank! Invest!" Do they mean you should throw your money at a broker or lose it yourself on the stock market? T-Bills? War bonds?

Ok, so my husband has been a nurses assistant for 3+ years and has his Associate of Science degree. We have a 3 year old and a baby due in less than 2 months. He has so much pressure on him to find a better paying job! Not to mention he hates his current job. What do you recommend???

I am in between jobs right now and have no money. I'm thinking about getting a credit card. How does it work? Do I start paying the money back within the first month or do you start making payments later on?

I was interested in purchasing a property where the railroad was litterally outside my yard or in this case the terrace.

Its such a sweet deal but as with anything in life, there is always a price to pay. In this case, I fear it would be my health. The fact that asbestos was a common material for just about everything, it concerns me to purchase property so close to the railroad. At first, I didn't think I could get used to the noise, but a major power line plus railroad tracks which would face the center of the apt freaks me out b/c of the possibility of developing a serious disease.

In the city any pce of land is prime but at what costs. Its sad that developers do not disclose this information to you and you only have the opportunity to do an inspection when you're in contract.

After 9/11, a rep from DEP or was it the EPA stated the air quality was safe. Unfortunately, she developed serious lung conditions and admitted years later the air quality really wasn't safe.

ok, first off, i really need to move out within the next few months, im 26 and still living home with my parents. I would have moved out a long time ago, but i live on long island, rents here are ridiculous, the only person who im willing to move in with is my bf, who wont be able to move out of his parents house for another year or so (he just finished school and wants to save more)
Ok, here are my expenses, Rent=800, food=150, cell=45, car insurance=165, car payment=250, student loan=122, maybe 80 to 100 for fun stuff....plus gas is at least 120 a month.

Well i only make about 500 a week. so about 2000 a month. the thing is, i do have $20k in my savings. How much more should i save before moving out ? I really need to get out, my parents are up my *** and treat me like a kid despite the fact that i am a responsible young woman. Any opinions?

As an employee of Chrysler I have seen a lot of wrong info about our benefits.First our health care is not free,I pay all doctors visits and one time yearly deductible of $1500 on hospital visit.Now for our pay,I work mandatory 6 days a week 10 hours per day.I have 29 years at Jeep and still work on the assembly line because at our plant that is all that is left.It is more then just screwing in a bolt,you have to stand 2 hours doing the same thing over and over.Just go somewhere in your house and stand there for 2 hours doing the same movement every 90 seconds.I have worked at a steel foundry and have driven truck and would do those jobs before working at a auto factory.I'm not complaining because I make a good living but I don't understand why people think we make to much.When GM,Ford and Chrysler were making billions in the 1990's no one complained about our wages,so now all of a sudden we are making to much money!I just want to know what you think we should make,please be truthful.

I am already a work from home mom, but I have a fond interest in sewing. I am interested in starting another out of the home business in my local area (and possibly over the internet) making "scrubs" for doctor's, nurses, and all who wear them. I would like to come up with a catchy and cute name for the business, but I am at a loss. I am usually a very creative person...but I truly can't think of anything here! lol
I already know I am also going to make kids sizes and call them "Scrublets" (TM). I hope that's cute.

Ive been working at a dental office for a week now. I just finished school to be a dental assistant, so I took the first job that seemed half decent. Since idont have expierence this was basically my only choice. Ok now to the problem. The dentist expects his girls to work overtime without getting paid. he thinks he can get away without ot because he puts his girls on salary but i know for a fact by law he still has to pay ot. We were supposed to get paid today but we didnt the dentist said maybe he wil get to them tommorrow. The girls say this is all normal crap.Now Im stuck in a situation. because I cant quit(have a young daughter and have bills to pay). So any advice on how to approch this dentist. I looked online and downloaded overtime law and another law about paying on a specific date, but i dont want to go in there and throwing around legal mummble jumble because like i said i need this job , at least until i get expierence. thanks in advance for your help. :)
