Twice I used this particular retailer for larger household items because of their finance options. They are NOT a rent-to-own financier, and the finance contracts I had with them state that they do report good and bad to all three credit bureaus.

Once I was done paying for the first item I bought from them (a couch), I checked my credit to see if they posted anything positive and I saw that they didn't so I went to their store talked to one of the store manager who reassured me that they would take care of the problem. During the same visit, I purchased and financed another large item (washer and dryer set), and it is also paid off, and again, nothing reported on my credit for either item.

What legal actions can I take against this retailer? I'm largely in the market to improve my credit and that is a very big deciding factor when I make purchases, and this retailer has failed to deliver, even though it's in the contract.

I have a single outstanding debt on my credit report. It's for $984, from a towing company that towed an abandoned / broken down car of mine, years ago. They submitted it to a collection agency. I was unaware of the bill before it went to the collection agency, because I moved out of state, just before they marked the car "abandoned" in my old apartment complex parking lot, and then was towed.
I'm not even aware of the original amount before it got to the collection agency, however I'm sure it's legit because of the details they have about the car.
I'm interested in paying this bill off, however when I contacted the collection agency to try to negotiate a "deletion" with full payment, they wouldn't have anything to do with it.
It's been about five years now that it's been on my credit report.
What would make the most legal sense? To pay it off in full, don't pay anything unless they accept some sore of deletion agreement, or settle it for as little as possible even without deletion

Question : Answer:
You have been assigned to help make a decision on an important issue within 24 hours. The outcome of this decision will have a direct impact on others. The best thing for you to do is to: 1. Meet with your manager to help her make the decision.
2. Call an emergency meeting with those affected and present the issue to the group.
3. Work with your manager to reach a decision, then meet with each person affected to inform them of your decision.
4. Ask your manager to present the issue at the next department meeting because it will affect others within the department.

I have a part time job that pays minimum wage ($5.85) Jobs here are slim so getting a full time job isn't going to happen. I was thinking about looking for another part time job. I was wondering, is working two jobs difficult? I know so many ppl who do it and they seem so damn tired lol obviously that'd be my guess too. But is it really doable?

You are new on your job working as part of a team. You have been assigned the lead role on a project where you are to analyze a problem and generate a solution during your next team meeting. You want to prove to the team you are capable of handling such an assignment and believe the problem isn’t too complicated. With a little extra work, you think you have identified an appropriate solution. You should:

1. Tell the team you have a possible solution, but are interested in hearing their ideas.
2. Review the problem with the team and wait to see if the others suggest your solution.
3. Avoid reviewing the problem with the team and provide your solution directly to your manager after the next meeting.
4. Present the problem and your solution at the next meeting and ask the team to generate a better solution by the end of the meeting.

Do you think the company is looking for a "right" answer, or just seeing what your work/management style is? Thanks!

I just got a notice from the IRS that I owe taxes from 1999. I don't know how this could be right. I called the IRS last year and asked them if I was good on my taxes and they said yes. So I have all this interest to pay now. Does anybody ever settle with the IRS on an amount that is less? It is only $275., so I don't think it would be worth getting an attorney. I don't know if there are other options besides making payments or paying the full amount. Help!

I want to go into a career using Spanish. I've just started my second year of college so I still have a LITTLE time to select a major but I'm in need of help. I don't know exactly what I want to do - which is why I'm having trouble selecting a major. Here's what I'm sure of... I want to do something with Spanish, I don't want an 8 to 5 desk job, I need human interaction, and I prefer hands on type work (or atleast not typing on a computer all day). No suggestions of becoming a teacher, please - I'm already aware that that is an option. Obviously, translating is also an option... SPECIFIC translating ideas are welcome. I'm looking for career choices (with majors needed to fall into that particular field listed) that I may not have thought of... there are MILLIONS of things that I could do with Spanish; what are your ideas? I'd prefer to stay in the U.S... not travel to other countries to work in a U.S. embassy or anything along those lines. Thanks in advance!
