I'm 24, an engineer for a large semiconductor corporation. I earn about 70k a year, I own a house, and a car (both of which I am still paying). I am interested in real estate and was thinking of purchasing another property and leasing it out to supplement my income.

Another possibility is that I should invest in stocks. I am already involved through the company I work for, but I hardly manage it. Like I have corporate stock and a 401k, but i heard from my friend that I should get into Roth iras and other accounts like that.

Should I got to a financial advisor? Are these questions that a financial advisor would know? Like I understand that it's my money and that I shouldn't let anyone sway me to put my money where i don't want to put it and it's ultimately up to me how and where my money gets spent, but I would like to know the feasibility and the risk analysis of these ideas.

Ultimately, my goal is get supplemental income at the end of the money. Can someone help me out?

Does anybody know of some good part-time jobs that don't deal much with people? I don't need a ton of money, but I'm looking for supplemental income, and I'm not much of a people person. I was looking into delivering newspapers early in the morning, does anybody have other suggestions?

A friend of mine offered to sell me his book of business. In about 12 months, he built a $2M book with over 3000 clients mainly P&C pers lines. To say the least, it will be a problem book that will require lots of work. IE. invalid discounts offered, low limits, bad service, underinsured homes, etc. Service is my strong point and do believe that i can salvage about 50-80% of the business. He is offering it to me at very low risk...Here are the details. 10K down (owner financed for 36 mo 0% interest). I pay him 50% of the renewal commisions every mo for 36 mo with no minimum guarantee on his part and the most i would have to pay is 190K, whichever occurs first. Also, I have to take over his lease which is approx 1K/mo for 5 years. He has non competes from him and his producers. I am too inexperienced to make this decision on my own. Please give me any advice and your thoughts. Thanks.

Hello,

i have an interview with KFC next week, and i have a few questions, if anyone had any past experiences with KFC would be great to share!

1) How many questions, do they usually ask and how long does the interview go for?

2) Do i need to learn the KFC history and their culture?

3) What should i expect in the interview? other answers apart from smile, looking good, confidence etc.

4) >MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION<
is it really true that KFC are hair discriminators?
i have medium-longish hair for a guy, i have a pretty long'ish side fringe that finishes just above my eye, and a medium-longish back(mullet) that finishes up to usually my shirt collars.

would that kind of hair effect my chances of getting the part time job?

Thanks,

Right now he works at Firestone as a tire tech... He makes $350 a wk w/ no chance of advancement. The other job is about $300 a wk w/ chance of Advancement. He actually has a good chance of advancement, but it's all chance! We could make it for a while on $300 a wk, for about 10 months. If we made it and he got an advancement we would make $600 a wk. What should he do... it could mean being very comfortable. However, if he doesn't make the advancement we would be screwed. On the $350 we're ok, but not good. HELP!!!

Here is the situation: we went from getting paid every two weeks to getting paid once a week. The last full check that we got was on sept 14th for the prior 2 weeks. Today (25th) we got a check that covered the 8-15th. The employer said that they can withhold a check- but i dont think they can, especially since we have been working there for well over 2 years.

From my calculations they should have paid us on the 18th for the prior week and on the 25th (today) for last week. Our original pay date would have been this Friday.

Am i overreacting or is that something that should be taken up with a lawyer? I know the company is having $$ issues right now, but we should still have been paid irregardless correct?

Can a Mortgage Broker be held liable for pushing a loan through approval knowing that the borrower has little or no chance on making the payments on a monthly basis?

Example:
'Company A' and 'Company B'

'Company A' provides phone service.
'Company B' is a phone company that allows 'Company A' to provide phone service under the 'Company A' Name.

Basically, 'Company A' is a middle man.

'Company B' charges 'Company A' $5 a client
'Company A' charges client $10

'Company A' receives payment and then pays 'Company B' the remainder.

is there some sort of legal way to organize this with IRS? Is there a form or something that needs to be filled out for tax reasons? is 'Company B' like a sub-contractor, and should be paid in a salary or commission form?

How much should my husband and I save a year? I don't work (going to school) and he's in the military. He has a TSP account through the Army that he saves 5% of his pay in. We have no 401ks or retirement accounts although we do have a $5500 cd. He makes about $42000 gross pay/yearly. What amount should we be saving?

Also, is it wiser to save as much as we can now and get subsidized student loans for my education or should we save less but not get student loans?
