What are the best labels to use for private packaging of my natural body care products that i make myself. I have tried going to office depot and staples and they just dont have the right kind of labels that i am looking for. Keep in mind, i am on a very tight budget.

re: trademark for the products--do you mean a patent for the formula or a trademark for your brand?

go here: http://www.uspto.gov/

this is the US Patent office, and it can answer your questions about patents and trademarks and what you need to do. If you are in Canada: http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/sc_mrksv/cipo/tm/tm_main-e.html

As for labels, you may have to design them yourself and google labels and see what you can find online to see what is available.

You may be confusing "Trademark" with "patent". A "Trademark" is issued for a logo, or a name like Coca-cola or Pepsi. If you want to get protection for the formulas used in your natural products then you would want to try to get them patented. Either process is through the Patent and Trademark office in Washington, D. C. and I have to tell you, it isn't cheap. You should be able to pull up a website for them - I would web search for U S Government Patent & Trademark office. I believe that they may have printable forms you can use to apply for either item.

You may also want to at least consult with a patent attorney before you proceed. It can be a time-consuming process because it usually requires a search to be sure that there isn't another trademark/patent out there with the same name or for an item too similar to yours.

As for labels, why not create your own with Printshop or one of the other software programs out there?

Good Luck.
