Last week, I had asked a question regarding the taxability of a non profit corporation. In retrospect, I now realize that perhaps I should have been more specific.
I live in a community that is governed by a Homeowner's Association.
I have been told, that the Homeowner's Association is required to file an 1120H with the IRS. In the past, the association has never been required to pay income taxes. However, in filing the 2006 tax return, we were required to pay approximately $3,650 in tax to the IRS.
What would have caused this? Under what section of the IRS code would I find additional information regarding Homeowner's Associations and what might or might not be taxable?

To make a long story short, this morning, a man pulled up to the dumpster at my apartment complex, dumped a sealed trash bag with trash and 9 or 10 live rats in it and took off. I called the police because I thought it was a baby or a dog. By the time they got there 15 minutes later, the rats had chewed holes in the bag and came out. The police dismissed it as wild rats in a dumpster attacking a bag. I watched that bag move for 10 minutes with only two other trash bags and no animals at all in that dumpster. The rats acted like domestic pet rats but I can't say for sure. The police blew me off and I haven't heard back from my email to the humane society (I told them I didn't know if this was a humane issue or animal control or vector control). I'm wondering if I should report this to the apartment manager. Whether the guy was cleaning out his house or dumping pets, he dumped a lot of rats onto the property. But if the police blew it off, whats the point?

I work for a huge Company and have become close to some of the people I work with. One of my managers would email me (work related usually) but the email would be very informal and would also include a bit of chit chat about her weekend (not to the point of taking the piss in work time though). I sent an email the other day to one of my colleages that was important but lighthearted and I had to copy my new Boss in as it was in relation to something he had asked. I only put the word tee hee in after I had mentioned something about a word document I had problems with. He went absolutely NUTS and said he didn't tolorate chit chat in emails as I was now connected to him and it is unprofessional. I am very good at my job and have never been spoken to about such things. I was fuming. Was he right or is he going to be the Boss from Hell?

Hello. How does a court judgment for a medical bill count against one's credit score? For instance, for a debt of $10k, if the court decides in the hospital's favor, what will that do to my FICO score? Is there a specific amount the score will decrease by? Is it based on the amount of the debt? Thanks in advance.

I have 10K in my 401K. I tend to roll it over to Roth, taxed once and never again, since only 4000 per year contribution is allowed, I can only rollover 10K this year 4000 and then next year 5000 and the rest, bit by bit? is that right? And I have to rolloever to a rollover IRA first right? Sincce I can only contribute 4000 or 5000 per year, the growth is not as large as if I have a larger lump sum compare to traditional. Unless I know by the time I retire, I am in a lower tax bracket... then traditional is good? I am confused, or maybe either turns out to be the same? I know traditional is tax deductable, Roth you can take the contributions out penalty free after 5 years. I read motley fool example and they said Roth is a bit better, but now I'm not sure. let's just say, I can pay the tax now if I move it to Roth, but still, I can't roll it all at once, correct?

I have part time job at the moment at the pay is really rubbish (£3.70 an hour). I got offered another job a while ago which was £5.56 an hour and I really wanted to take it but I turned it down because I felt bad seeing as I'd already started at this other job and I didn't want to tell them I wanted to quit.

I've been working there for about 3 months but the low pay is really starting to get on my nerves so I'm thinking about quitting and reapplying for this other job as they're always looking. The only thing is I really don't know how to tell them I want to quit, I don't know how to go about it and I'm going to feel so guilty because i get on well with the people I work with.

Which one carries more weight with regards to credibility in the Property & Casualty insurance industry? And is there a suggested time frame to go after it (i.e. 1 year or 2 years of experience)? I currently work for a transportation insurance agency and have only worked in the insurance industry for about 4 months now, but I was in the transportation industry for about 3 years.

Do you think that it would matter if I went after these designations now or waited? I don't want to waste anytime, but a few have told me that it may be best to wait a few years...I am not married yet...nor do I have a family...so I wanted to knock a few of these designations out before that happened, and then go after my CPCU...

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance for your help!!
