I already have a pay pal account set up with a credit card for my own shopping, but do I need to add a debit card so I can easily withdraw my $ if I sell items? Will pay pal allow you to add/delete cards?
Thanks

My tenants have caused 5k worth of water damage do to negligence on their part. Their washer leaked. My insurance is paying for the damages except for my 1k deductible. Is it recommended I ask the tenants to pay for the decutible and cost of a plumber to assess the problem. I'm concerned this may cause the tenants to retaliate and damage my place causing me more issues. Any suggestions?

I spent 3 months studying for and passing my series 3 license for a sales position in a firm. I live in an area that has no firms and in order for me to work i have to move. I called upon many companies that are about 3 hours away, and told them up front that I will need 2000 upfront to work so i can pay for my first one living expense. The job is commission only. A few companies agreed on loaning me 2k but then retracted! Why is 2k in relocation costs so much money, even though i offered to pay it back after i made some deals and sign a contract. How should i approach asking for relocation assistance with an employer?

TO me its well justified, because these employers will pay for your testing which comes out to 800 dollars, and the period is a 3 months period.

Well i paid the 800 out of pocket, and i am ready to go immediately. So isnt it worth 2000 to have someone starting now, then traing a new person and waiting 3 months?

your perspective to help me understand?

I have a friend who is planning on refinancing her mortgage and all of her debt thru this company. I am skeptical that all of her debt can be erased in that short amount of time. I need more information on this company so that she can make a better decision.

Here is the problem. How do I go about calculating the after-tax cost of new debt and common equity. Calculate the cost of equity and calculate weighted cost of capital. I am really confused on this.

The following tabulation gives earnings per share figures for the Foust Company during the preceding 10 years. The firm’s common stock, 7.8 million shares outstanding, is now (1/1/03) selling for $65 per share, and the expected dividend at the end of the current year (2003) is 55 percent of the 2002 EPS. (Note that 9 years of growth are reflected in the data.)

YEAR EPS YEAR EPS
1993 $3.90 1998 $5.73
1994 4.21 1999 6.19
1995 4.55 2000 6.68
1996 4.91 2001 7.22
1997 5.31 2002 7.80

The current interest rate on new debt is 9 percent. The firm’s marginal tax rate is 40 percent. Its capital structure, considered to be optimal, is as follows:

Debt $104,000,000
Common equity 156,000,000
Total liabilities and equity $260,000,000

a. Calculate Foust’s after-tax cost of new debt and common equity. Calculate the cost of equity as ks= D1/P0+g.

b. Find Foust’s weighted average cost of capital.

I'm sure it has a lot to do with how long you were in each job, your age, etc. For me, I'm 55, was in my last job 5+1/2 yrs. I held the job before that for 7-yrs.

Am I supposed to go back to my first employer right out of college?

I am self employed and work on a building site as a consultant.

I am sure they are going to get rid of me when they find out I'm expecting as I will pose too many health and safety issues for them.

As I understand they can do this because I am self employed.

When, legally, do I have to tell them? Are there any other duties placed on me as both pregnant and self employed?

For all of my other clients I can work from my own office. This is the only one where I work on their premises.

Does anyone have any information on the law relating to pregnancy for self-employed persons?

The apartment I am looking into allows pets, but they charge outrageous deposits and extra rent per month. I have two cats. I am wondering if when I sign the lease I say I don't have pets to avoid paying the deposit and extra rent. It's an apartment complex run by a corporation so the only people coming into my apartment will be maintenance and how are they supposed to know I said I don't have pets on my lease? Will this work? Anyone get away with it before?

My mother will begin working but unlike most people she is simply going to get a check of about 500 per month from her employer. No taxes will be taken out, no fica, no social security.. just straight 500 gross pay.

I know she will have to file a tax return at the end of the year with IRS but that would only be for federal and state tax..

But my question is:

Will she be forced to pay medicare, fica, social security on her own or can she not pay that?

I assume this is kind of like being self employed in that you do have the option to pay social security, fica, etc but you do not have to by law?
