Do you think one day you will wake up to find you are just another statistic of a company that moved it's shop to Mexico because it's workers are greedy? GM, Ford, Chrysler can't move to Mexico quick enough. Toyota can't build factories in the US quick enough.....hmmmmm think about it..

And for those of you who think it's not the employees, I beg to differ.. they pay union dues and have a BIG say on what that union does..SO the majority of the union workers want to go on strike.

I have mixed feelings, my dad, is a UAW worker, so i don;t want any bad to come to him, however. i went to 4 years of college, i have been busting my butt 10-12 hours a day, and this is a common thing in my field as it is in many fields today. It is required to keep our jobs...my dad works long hours yes, then has shut downs for time off. When all is said and done, my dad with a GED is making about 150% more than i am and has better benifits working far less hours in a years time, all with security of not being laid off. yet he complains that they want to lesson his insurance to a level still far better than mine. He is eligible for retirement and claims he can not afford to yet he drives a lexus, eats every meal out, and lives in a 5 bedroom house stuffed with all the newest electronics. My opinion is this the auto industry was a big profitable industry for everyone envolved... 20-30 years ago, it has become more competetive, and therefor harder to be successfull. The UAW was not created to insure you live better than others do it was created to insure you are not takin advantage of. and driving a lexus and having insurance paid for you is not being takin advatage of. yes UAW workers work hard very hard. but they are paid very well too. to me a strike is the result of a percieved need. a need that is driven by greed.
Sorry dad it's true....

The blue collar workers are always questioned for the same avarice that is considered just fine for the highest execs who get 3 million in stock as a bonus for a year they have lost money. Without the sitdown strikers of the 1930's there would be not have been a large middle class to buy the cars that made GM rich.

This a touchy subject. We all need money to live. But, how much is enough? I a simple person and not need a lot. But, I work for what I need. What gets me are the Egotistic people that have this better than thou attitude because they make more and have more than me. I not jealous of them, but, I happy and feel I just as good a person as they are. So, I respect those who respect me. But, I will not buy another new car as I feel they already overpriced. It their decision what they want to do, and, it the decision of the consumer if they want to pay for it.

Because the UAW and the unions are greedy lazy dogs. And if your father does not want to strike, then he and his fellow cronies should vote out the union. I have no sympathy for union workers. Just watch them on TV when they are interviewed. Guaranteed you will see a 300 pound guy with long hair probably in a pony tail and a bandana around his head and a long fat cigar in his mouth.

The U.S. economic sanctions will stop that.
There are many U.S. companies opening business overseas and pay less for workers. In some cases even children are exploited in the work force and Kathy Lee Gifford klnows all about that crap too.
