How true Steve.
The UAW and Big 3 auto companies are directly responsible for bankrupting Michigan and sending hundreds of thousands of our middle class jobs overseas. It didn't bother them one iota then.
And now, when the aftermath has become crystal clear (their former suppliers were their customers and they are no longer buying their cars, or any cars), they whine and say, "we deserve it".
I hope GM has the balls to finally break the union, but they won't. And since they are quietly focusing on China & India, it won't matter in 10 years when the UAW has no more jobs and all the cars made will be made & sold, in China.
Wake up Americans, coming soon to a job near you, unemployment

It all boils down to the same thing, everyone looking for something for nothing.
Many people pay for their own insurance and allot of the rest pay a good percentage, while the union may complain about the benefits they are getting it's because they get less and less ever contract.
That is to be expected if that company want to stay competitive in the market place.
The unions today are nothing like they were 50 years ago when they fought for better working condition, 40 hour work week and health care. But today's union are about power, and growth, they only complain about health care because it makes them look good to their members.
No one deserves a free ride , And I really don't want to see socialized medicine in the U.S. But if the Unions and the liberals keep pushing we are all going to suffer for quality health care.

AGREE 100% They are the elite few in America who get this. Everyone else has to fend for themselves. Not that I wish to see GM go under but what are they thinking? If the pickiting lasts too long GM who is already on the brink would go bankrupt and shut down everything. Then what would they do?

Unfortunately, we as employees, have let the business world do as they please with us. It's why there are so few decent jobs with good benefits.
The huge company I work for had about 700 people in this building. 200 of them are contract employee with a temp agency who receive basically no benefits. Unfortunately they're desperate enough for work to take this. I did too, but was very, very lucky to be in the right place at the right time and got hired full-time.
Most aren't as lucky. Please don't give up. Work at your job while you look for something better. That's what I did.

If you have a college degree and a job with no benefits, then you're in the wrong job or you picked a lousy major for potential employment

The unions have what they have because they had the backbone to stand up for it .
I am very sorry that your career path did not lead to a place where people had the higher level of character .
Why is it that college people tend to end up sheep ?
