I have part time job at the moment at the pay is really rubbish (£3.70 an hour). I got offered another job a while ago which was £5.56 an hour and I really wanted to take it but I turned it down because I felt bad seeing as I'd already started at this other job and I didn't want to tell them I wanted to quit.

I've been working there for about 3 months but the low pay is really starting to get on my nerves so I'm thinking about quitting and reapplying for this other job as they're always looking. The only thing is I really don't know how to tell them I want to quit, I don't know how to go about it and I'm going to feel so guilty because i get on well with the people I work with.

Work is work! As much as you enjoy the people there and don't want to "hurt their feelings", the whole reason you are there is to earn money. So do not feel bad, unless you made a commitment when you were hired that you would stay for a certain period of time.

Compose a brief Letter of Resignation to your supervisor, stating what your last date of employment will be, and that you wish him/her all success in their future endeavors. Then go speak to your supervisor, explain that you are leaving the job, and hand over the letter. You don't have to explain why if you're uncomfortable, or you can say that the other job offers better benefits.

Depending on the type of relationship you have with your supervisor, you might consider asking first if they can match the pay of the other job. If they can't then they will understand why you need to leave.

Work is work. Remember that! As long as you conduct yourself with class and integrity, there is no reason to feel bad about moving on for a better job.

Because looking for a job while you are employed is not cheating and you job doesn't have feelings. Another thing, you NEED a job to support yourself. You don't need a relationship. Actually sometimes it's best to be alone between relationships.

Im in the same postion...just explain to them you have alot of problems financialy and its not the time for you to be here. If they really want to keep you, they might even raise your pay. But you have to do whats best for you...put it this way, would they feel sorry telling you? You have to go where the money is, its how the world works...good luck

It's not about them it's about you.
What makes you happy??
They are happy they have you working for them at a low rate so they can make more money from you then the next person.

Look for another job get it and give two weeks notice that is the best thing you can do.

Send them a letter of resignation.....Your two weeks notice.
Tell them you have found another position that pays more. Who knows, they may give you a raise so that you will stay. Good luck.
