And what do they do with that info (driver's license #) when they type it into their computers... is it to keep track of how many things a person returns.. is there a limit??

Some people will shoplift, and never take it out of the store, instead, they go straight to cust service and try to return it.

They collect the info and its accumulating in some data base. Some day they may curtail the frequent returns folks or reward those that don't!

The other reason is that they feel that if the item was hot people would be less likely to want to show id etc and create a record...

So just buy what you plan on keeping and don't forget to tell em if its defective if that is why you are returning something.

The neatest thing is that if you bought it there, they automatically credit the credit-card account!

Yes, they do ID it, and they do track.

No, there is no limit. But they are checking for all the usual dodges ('trying' everything for 30 days and then bringing it back for example).

As far as unopened packages with receipts, I doubt they limit those at all.

I was told there is a limit on returns. I've returned more than my limit, without being questioned.
