Check with your state labor department or their web site. Restrictions vary by state. Your employer might even have a poster or some other literature outlining any restrictions. The restrictions will be something like a maximum number of hours on school days, more on non-school days and a maximum total per week. Except for states that have state laws limiting working hours, and specific jobs like pilots and truck drivers, there aren't limits on how many hours a day someone can work.

child labor laws usually restrict you to 4 hrs a weeks during school week - and you can only work until a certain hr and 20 hrs total during the week during school yr - employer should know the exact rules

In Texas it is 20 hours and they can't work during school hours unless it is for a class.

Not a tax question.
For most jobs there are no legal limits. Some such as truck drivers and pilots do have a limited duty day.
