I asked the question as part of my previous one, but I'm hoping ot get more responses please.

After 7 years of delinquency, the bad debt falls off my credit report, let's say I'm at a 400 credit score. How do I go about bettering my credit? How long would it take before I have a fairly decent one again?

I am really hoping to rebuild my life and begin to better myself. Thank you

Recently I found a house that I liked and put down a deposit to hold the room of £300.00 via cheque. The landlord gave me a written receipt for this explaining it was a security deposit. He then gave me the keys to the house and said that he would post on the contract for me to look at and then on meeting we would sign it. I have since decided that I do not wish to take up the tenancy and since I have not signed any tenancy agreement am I entitled to cancel the cheque for the deposit and return the keys to the landlord? This is an urgent question. Thankyou.

I moved into a new community in Katy, Texas 10 months ago. Upon making our decision to buy this lot, we asked our home builder if there were any plans of construction going on with the land behind it. They said "nothing that we are aware of" They just said it is commercial property and nothing else. 4 months into living here, a contractor started breaking ground for what is now becoming a 2 story concrete warehouse that is 15 feet from our back fence. It is almost as tall as the power lines that run across the back of the community and it blocks about 75% of my view from my patio. The loading dock is right behind our house. My view of our gorgeous Texas sunsets is now gone. Do I have any rights? Are there any rules or laws of disclosure that I should have been informed of? I feel extremely cheated. I chose this lot as we didn't want a 2 story homeowner overhanging our back yard. Now we have a commercial one....Any advise would be great.

My husband left us ( 2 kids) and ran up $45k on my credit card.I am primary on the card and he was an authorized user. Collectors are calling me and offered to settle the debt for $15k. I am unemployed and cannot afford to pay any of it. The house we live in is in my husbands name and so is the car we drive. He is paying those bills. What will happen if I do not pay the credit card bill?

I had an accountant file my returns in 2003, I was audited in 2005, by Federal. I took care of that audit, with my accountant. I remember at the time telling my accountant to make adjustments to that state return and sent him something. Well, the state return was never filed, now I owe 2500, at least 800 is intersting and penalties. I keep calling my accountant and he keeps saying he will call me back and doesn't take any action. I called the state myself, they just want to get paid.
Is there anyway to negotiate the fees and interest since I didn't know about the bill till 2 weeks ago. (2 years after the audit).

The state is CT.

The Federal Return was redone and paid. The accountant nevr filed the State portion.

Help. Any idieas? This was a private CPA firm.

Im a responsible person financially so stuff like this usually doesnt happen.. and i dont know what happens when it does.

I got paid yesterday (Friday) and didnt realize it takes a couple days for the check to be available at the bank.. i guess usually i have enough money where i dont notice.

anyways after i put it in the bank i immediately went out and made a 400 dollar purchase for something that i needed... not knowing that money will not go through until monday.

When that company tries to take the money out of my bank will it go through and then me just get a late fee?

or will the bank tell them "sorry the funds are there" and i also get a late fee!

I hate doing irresponsible things- any advice appreciated! The purchase was made on my debit card btw but using the credit card way (aka.. not putting in your pin) Right now it is a "pending transcation" in my account

btw.. this was an online purchase and my bank is wamu if that helps

Ive been in and out of the hospital most of the summer and when I reconciled my checking account after a few months there were appx 15 unauthorized debits from merchants I have never heard of, totaling over $3,000 that had been withdrawn from my account. Chase told me too bad and refused to reverse and I doubt they even investigated. What can I do?

Has anyone ever filed for compensation without proof of postage?

I'm an ebay seller and I printed off the postage label so I at least have proof that I paid the postage but this was a very rare occasion that I couldn't get to the post office so put it in a post box instead. So I have no actual proof that I posted it and it hasn't arrived even though I sent it nearly 2 weeks ago.

What I find suspicious is the only other time I've had something lost was again, when I sent it from a post box and didn't obtain a proof of postage certificate.

Has anyone else experienced the same and has anyone been able to get compensation?
