It sounds like a hard decision. If you KNOW you won't lose your job, it might work. Is she also worried about how you'll pay for it? Have you asked area mechanics how much more money they will pay for someone with this degree? It sounds like you have a lot of training under your belt already. Before you take the plunge and get more training, I would find out if it's financially worth it to do so. I am a teacher, our salary is on steps. You get paid based on your level of education and how long you've been there. I have my bachelor's and my friend has his master's. And he only makes $2000 a year more than me. Was 2 extra years of school worth $2000 a year?

Please do more research before you make up your mind.

I would agree that continuing with your goal of becoming an automotive technician is something that you should fulfill. If you are working at a job, for ex. pepsi, and are not happy with it, you will only be causing yourself more misery. They say that if you love what you do, you'll never have to work a day in your life :) Farrah Gray, author of Reallionaire, who is a young multimillionaire says to consider asking oneself this question when deciding on a career goal: "What what I do for years and years to come and not have to get paid?"

Please, however, do not attend those private schools that cost thousands of dollars in which you will need to repay school loans plus interest. Intead please consider attending a county vo-tech school or community college as you were. Wishing you the best of luck in school and your endeavors!

the above answers are good .
If ur heart isn't to work u'll be fired soon enough.
as for Mom , she has had her car repaired lately. seriously a 'Qualified ' auto mechanic can earn 6 figure yrly.
as for UTI check with state Attorney General for issues. call local Community college for their auto trades program.
costs are lower and financing often better .
do ur homework on these issues.
Understand this - u never ever have "job" security only production equals security.
