Is it unheard of to get a payrise, even if it is only small?

Shall I expect a payrise?

Or am I in dreamland?

Thanks

Edit:

Especially since working at my current job, I have displayed skills which can cover (although no where near as accomplished) other departments (i.e. IT and design)...

It's not unheard of, but normally you would know about it before hand. For example, when we recruit people, we normally state a starting salary and then the new salary after successful completion of probationary period.
Wouldn't hurt to ask ......

A continuance evaluation, If you get one, is not the same as a performance review. Usually, if your probation is satisfactory, day ninety-one would not be very different from day ninety.

For the most part, this type of increase is used as an acceptance incentive and would have been mentioned during one of your interviews. Also, if a raise was part of the corporate structure, at least one person would have mentioned it by now.

I'm sorry. The current economy does not make a raise likely; however, you are in a better situation and should have an equal opportunity for promotion or merit increases. Good Luck.

Its common to be given a payrise at the end of the probabtion but not required

If you have a contract it will probably state in there

Usually when you are hired you are told that you will get a riase after your probationary period. If they did not tell you that then I would not expect one. It doesn't hurt to ask for a raise though.

Some companies do, some don't. I wouldn't expect it - there's too much chance of being disappointed. Normally they would have said something about it when they hired you if raises then was their policy.

But it's hard to tell, and you might get one yet. Good luck.
