Thanks guys, this is not a total "quit my job" business to start. I plan on working full time as well.

Have enough overhead to cover personal expenses for one year. Have spouse dedicated to proposition. Watch overhead, and make do without things. Need income support for overhead. Always review overhead to make certain service and supplies are necessary. Befriend others in line you are going in for ideas.

I began a small business in March of this year. But to answer your question, we need more info. What type of business?
OK, my suggestion is to begin by picking your target consumers. When I began my cleaning business, my target consumers were two income families. Next, I knew that there were many other such businesses, so I distinguished my service. I specialized in green cleaning. My competition was not doing that at the time. Then, I advertised in the paper and on the net. Have a website if you don't already. Work for family, friends and etc., ask them to spread the word. Look to gain a "trademark" of fair price, good service, and trustability-then you're on your way. Good Luck! Penny

It's a good business, sounds like the Geek Squad who made a real go of this with groups opening in several states.
