My wife received a letter from a Mutual insurance company. They needed info about her brother LP. Turns out that LP had taken out a policy back in 1974. Well LP died in 1992. He had his father as the primary and his mother as the contingency. His mother died in 1991 and his father remarried 4 days before LP died. Then his father died this year. Can the wicked step-mother step forward and say "It's mine" Or does it follow the blood line and go to the siblings? The woman on the phone said that it was a "nice chunk of change".

I was wondering if I would be able to get a grant at 17.

I would use the money to start a small video production company.

I've already started and gotten paid for get togethers, birthday parties, etc.

I'm know that the government doesn't just give away money. But next year I'm starting college...and what I'm doing now pays more than working at McDonald's or something like that.
So if I could get better equipment by then I could work thru college without struggling so hard.

I am currently buying a home. My boyfriend's name was on 1 document of my packet of documents to sign. (It was only his name and income). I'm guessing they used his income + mine to qualify me for the home. They also asked if he will be living there. (Yes.)
My question is, his name will not be on the title or mortgage payments. (So I'm told). Will he have any ownership in this property?????

My agent said he doesn't have to show up to closing. I'll be the only one signing. Is it possible they'll want to add him before I can close -even though the mortgage broker said I qualified on my own??

Thanks!

I want to offer my friends something that works similarly to CDs. Although I would not call myself a "bank" or "depository institution" I would be paying them interest on what they give to me.

Is this legal? Of course, I know *loaning* is illegal unless you're a chartered bank, but I'm not loaning money or charging interest. I'm simply making their money grow with a new type of financial instrument (that works pretty similarly to a CD).

Since nobody's ever heard of this financial instrument, I'm clear, right?

I was given pastel pink stroller from my boss who thought it was great. The only problem is, I really wanted the olive green stroller. ANYWAY...since it was a gift, ie no receipt, even though it is still in its box Target won't take it back. I called their store manager and said that I would need an "override autorhization code" which I needed to get from their Guest Relations 1-800, which of course is closed on the weekends. Does anyone have this special code? If I can have it, then I can exchange the stroller for the one I really wanted. Please help!!
