Choice Trade is good. Only $5.00 per trade and no minimums. The fee structure is such that you can trade stocks no matter what the price for the same low fee.

I don't know of any Stock Broker that will charge you for an ACH transaction (movement of funds [not a wire]).

Best broker... Depends on you and your needs. Generally Charles Schwab and Fidelity are good choices. Lower fee brokers are good for more experienced traders, not the general public.

I've used Scottrade, they're good at price, good at executing, no real "help" for portfolio planning and research.

I use ThinkOrSwim. Not for the casual trader. Great software based trading. I have used the other firms in the past.

No decent brokerage firm will charge you to give them money (however, the bank may charge you for a wire transfer).

Lots of people use eTrade - I haven't had good experiences with them - I do fine with Fidelity, although I have a managed account and pay a % of my assets for that management.
