We have been living in the same small apartment for near 3.5 years now and new Management just took over and they are no offense Nazi's, well in their tactics that is. This 5 apartment complex has just been infested by cockroaches which have never been here before until the new tenants upstairs moved in and they are dirty people, not very clean.

Neither of my propane heaters work correctly and one has a dead thermostat. We have holes in the ceiling that are falling down as the upstairs people stomp and stomp as they care less that there are people below them.

Our stove has a broken button, the insulation is shot and windows have no storm windows IN VERMONT.

YET they expect us to pay $100 more starting the 1st of the month and they have yet to fix anything.

I have verbally warned them, written them once and am about to write a third time and call the health inspector and start putting our rent into a savings till they repair it, is this the right way to handle this? Talking is...

If business gets big I will eventually I am just wondering what I should do. Thanks.

I work at a small company. 3 people. Me-assistant. Other Owner and Manager. My boss, the Owner, has 75% more clients than the other manager in the office. My boss will tell me to do a task, such a send a package to a client or reschedule a meeting with a client. The Manager will question what I am doing and INSIST that I do it his way which is opposite than what the Owner told me to do. When I assert that I will do what I was told, the Manager sulks, slams his door, ignores me, or calls to tell his wife about the situation but speaks in Spanish, so I cannot understand him. I am not sure what to do. The Owner gets very upset with me when he finds out that I did not follow his instructions. Do I tattle on the Manager? They have worked together for 7 years and I have been here 3 months...

Taxing companies when their payroll exceeds a certain amount is a disincentive to employ people. This must be harmful to the economy and the community.
Why can't the stupid, useless and irrelevant state governments see that?

I'm so frustrated right now. I am planning to start travel nursing again, hopefully next month. One (or actually 2) big things are in my way. I need 2 recommendation letters from an employer I left about 5 mos ago. I brought the forms down there week before last and left them for the people who need to do them, with instructions to fax them ASAP. Well, my travel nursing company still hasn't received them. I've called a couple of times and haven't gotten anywhere. It's the hospital's policy to just give the length of time you were employed, and how much you were paid. It's a JACHO (healthcare accreditation company) requirement for travel nursing companies to get letters of recommendation that address your clinical skills. I was hoping my bosses would do this without a problem, but I'm not getting anywhere. I don't know what to do at this point!

When a company grants medical (dental and vision as well) benefits to domestic partners, it adds the value of that benefit as if it was paid in cash to each paycheck. So, if you make 10$ per hour and you work 40 hours (400$) and your company values the benefit being granted to your partner as 100$ - you will be taxed as if you were paid 500$ - even though you only receive 400. I'm just wondering if this can be claimed or credited somewhere when I file this year...

I graduated from law school in 2003 with a JD and MBA. Then, I passed the bar.
My complaint is that every job I've held since then has been very very boring and non challenging. I have not stayed with any employer for more than one year since 2003. I have held titles such as Corporate Counsel, Legal Manager, and Attorney. They are all just titles though....

I am currently with a large company. When they interviewed me last summer they promised large challenging projects, more responsibilities, and that I would stay busy. However, I have had nothing but down time since I have been there. I surf the web all day because there is nothing to do. I have brought this to my supervisor stating that I have nothing to do and management acts oblivious. I also know of four other people in my division who have nothing to do all day so they look busy when they aren't.

I hate to hop jobs alot...but what should I do?? I cannot sit there and not gain skills or relevant experience.
