I currently have Bank of America and I need a check book. I need to get direct deposit for my job, and I need a checkbook to mail in payments and to have certain payments through the internet to get automatically taken out of my checking.

I went on a website and they wanted to charge me like 29 dollars for a book of checks, that's fine.. but I'm a college student, I need checks, but can't afford to spend 29 plus taxes on it!!

Is there anywhere I can go to get CHEAPER checks, or free???? Thanks

I am getting married November 15. We have not and will not be living together before then. What would my filing status be for the next tax season. I usually file head of household, single with two dependents (my two boys). Do I need to instead claim married with my future husband?

Hello and thanks in advance.

Scenario:

"John" is a first time home buyer (primary residence, lives alone, 30-yr traditional loan) who may want to move in a few years. Call it House A.
John wants to move into another property (House B) and "convert" it to his primary residence while renting out House A.

Questions:

Can House A be deemed a rental property? If so can John then use a 1031 tax exchange and exchange House A for another rental property (House C) whenever he wants to make the exchange?
During this time John is living in House B as his primary residence.

I think the answer is yes but I am still wondering. Also if anyone has had experience doing this could you please summarize the process? John and I are in similar situations ;) and others experiences would be insightful. Thanks.

I feel like teenagers have been understimated, people globalize when coming to situations involving teens, I know that i not only speak for myself but i speak for a lot of people my age, who have the maturity of someone older, i feel like this is racism, teenager like me have talent and are capable of doing things that would fit into a corporate job, so, why is this happening, why we have to take fast food jobs or that kind of jobs?

I have contacted an attorney and he said that it would cost me about 15k for him to file an offer in compromise and that when the agreement was made, as long as I kept up my end of the bargain, I would be free of debt to them in about 3 years. What would happen if I just went to the IRS and offered to give them the 15k myself, plus say another $7500. Would the IRS work with me direct? I owe probably over 100k.

I'm trying to find out what basic services are provided by non-profit organizations. I know they all have their specific field, but there is a structure of sorts that all non profits will go through. I'm looking for a list of basic (and some not so basic) services they render, as well as a list of information detailing what the organization does through out the year. ie, look for sponsors 20% of the time, give away money or services 30% of the time, etc. Best answer will go to the person who is descriptive, detailed, knowlegable, and meets the requirements of the question. Thank you.

I have been going through some medical problems lately and have missed 4 days of work but not in a row. They demanded a doctor's note the last time I called in and now I had to miss today. Again they called me up asking for a doctor's note! I had my doctor write the last time that I have an ongoing medical condition. I can't keep going to the doctor paying office calls when I have been diagnosed and treated! If I show up without one can I get fired even if I tell them I to re read the last one my doctor gave me!

If my income was $5200 a month (AFTER the $900 a month insurance payment and after income taxes are deducted) then what would my yearly GROSS income need to be and what precentage would I pay in taxes (eg 27%) ? For tax purposes we are a family of 4 with one income.

The price of gasoline has really risen in the U.S. in the past couple of years. 19% of our family's pay goes just for gasoline. That does not count the price of an auto or repairs. We are paying twice as much for gasoline as we are for food. Is it that high for other people too?

So I've got a debt of 2999.17, and they sent me a letter offering 35% off if I paid in full (1949.46). I'm sure I can pay even less than the 2 grand, but I don't want to aim too low at first, because I know it'll be some sort of haggling situation.

Also, I don't know where to set my bottom line of what I simply will not pay more than. I really want to clear this up, and I really want to pay as little as possible, but I haven't dealt with these people much in my life.
