I was evicted/Locked out by the sheriffs department from my apt. The sheriff gave me 5 minutes to gather a bag of clothes and what else I could of my personal effects. It has been 2 months since this incident, I have no heard anything in the form of letters or calls from the land lord regarding my possessions. During this time I have mustered up enough money to if nothing else bargain for my belongings. I contacted the landlord and he stated that my stuff has been trashed. I find this very difficult to believe since the majority of the stuff was high end sound equipment. As it seems I feel the landlord has sold my stuff with out notifying me. I am in Philadelphia PA. There was a coalition named T.A.G. (Tenant Action Group) which assisted normal folk, but apparently they are now defunct, which is why I am posting here. Thanks in Advance... P D P

I am trying to buy a house that I really like. The woman who owns it is being very stubborn and wants $105,000. I can only go $90000 which is still higher than the estimated value. If she accepts my offer but the bank appraisal comes in lower, what happens then?

Hi, I understand that at present I can have £3000 a year in a Cash Mini ISA, but when this matures, can I keep the 2007/2008 amount running along side another £3000 for 2008/2009 allowance? Or do I have to close the current account in order to re-invest next year? ie. Next year, I could have £6000 in total, then £9000 invested, then £12000 etc. or is £3000 the maximum at any time? Thanks very much.

I am literally exhausted having sent more than 200 emails, filling so many online application forms for graduate programs etc.. I am an Indian Mechanical Engineering Graduate with 3 month internship in Supply Chain/Operations in a multinational company in Saudi Arabia, however i want to work in a different country.. i have applied in almost every famous firm's website, scouted most jobsites and now am seriously irritated at the system which cannot recognise talent.

I dont know why companies dont even care to send an acknowledgement email. I doubt its cos my resume/application is poor. I have a 3.5gpa for engineering and 95percent in school (10th and 12th grade) and i have excellent communication skills and computer literacy. hmm, filling this feels like filling one of those job applications..

I now feel like a fool for having left opportunities back at home(India) and having come to Saudi Arabia to work.I cannot quit my job unless i find a new one.. Is there no way out???

I'd really like to work from home, doing some of the things i've seen advertised...such as mailing information, assembling products, any kind of data entry, but not spamming. I'm scared though because I don't want to be scammed or tricked into something.

I have a lot of ambition and passion to be the best that I can be. My dream is to become a Police Officer, yet I also have a talent for academics and medicine. I will be 21 years old before too long and would like to know what others think. I was born and raised around Police and have what seems to be an innate ability to be a police officer. My immediate goal is to become a Paramedic. I love the medical aspect of being a Paramedic. Medical and Legal investigations intrigue and motivate me to solve the problem. Is the medical journey satisfying enough for me to take that route? My biggest worry about that route is time. Time for family, friends, and love. Or must you revoke all that time until the end?

I've always just deemed this type of real estate as just too risky, and a game that only big boys. Just wondering, for instance I live in Gary, and a lot of the properties are selling wholesale for 5-10k wholesale. Now if you could find an appraiser, to tell you the market value of the home after improvements. Lets say he told you 55k. Lets say you found a contractor that told you he could do those proposed improvements for 15k. So now you just do the simple math..lets say..20-25k invested plus 10k incidentals(gas, taxes, insurance etc) so potential for a max investment of 35k..say at the least house will sell for 10K under market value..which leaves you with a clean 10k. Is it really as risky as I once thought?

Well, 2 years ago I naively bought a friend a car who didn't have one, he couldn't pay it, so have 2 cars in my name. One person has been paying on it, but I am thinking about trying something, because my parents have offered their old car to me. If I were to sell both cars, I know I will have balances left on the car loans, but at least they will be less than they are now. Is it possible to either a) negotiate with the finance companies to get lower monthly payments or b) go into some sort of 'debt consolidation' plan with these "lesser" loans? I'd gotten the notion car loans were secured loans, and therefore organizations like Consumer Credit Counseling would not be able to help with them.

On another similar topic, is there any sort of financial assistance available to people in this sort of situation?
