Hi I went for a job interview Friday & it looks like the interview went very well & I should have a second interview lined up but I feel really bad about leaving my current employer in the lurch! Whats the best way to approach this?

If your current employer didn't deserve to be left in the lurch then you wouldn't be leaving. They should increase your pay, promote you or change your job description.

Anyway, you want to leave on a friendly basis. Write a letter that says you have learnt a lot, you are sorry to leave, that this is a great opportunity for you, if your replacement needs any help they can have your phone number of email address etc etc.

I'll take your old job.
