My credit started in 1988 when Mobil or Exxon reported that I opened a credit card.

No big deal. I'm ok with that even without my authority and consent.

What I'm not ok with is how much bee-ess I'm having to go through to get my stupid credit reports from these jamokes.

Mobil, Exxon, and any other Tom, Dick, and Harry can say whatever they want about me at the drop of a hat. However, try to get a copy and what do they say?

"The information you provided as proof of your identity does not match your information currently on file."

I'm trying to teach these credit bureaus a little bit of math:

If A = B, and B = C, then A = C.

A is me
B is the creditors
C is the credit bureaus

A can talk to B.

B can talk to C

But C won't talk to A.

What exactly is it the credit bureaus don't get about that?

I have search and search and lost some money in the process. But I still want to operate my own business. I am of limited funds so I would be looking for something affordable and reasonable.

I'm interested in serving on non-profit boards. I have a great deal of volunteer experience, but I just started working full-time. I have a post-graduate degree. It's a great way to use the skills I have while networking and gaining new experience. The organizations I volunteer for already are... bureaucratic and their board members are all significantly older with more experience and major donors. They include health and advocacy groups. I know they value my time and effort, but they've brushed off my inquiries.

How do I go about achieving this goal?

I'd like to pay off a credit card without the world (or my wife!) knowing about it. I can make good monthly payments but it's best if I deal with it asap. Thanks.

Any advice on what to do ??

I had a pretty large capital loss several years ago. Since then I've been doing the 3000 deduction each year from my gross income during tax writeoffs.

Will the IRS ever request to show proof of my deduction even though it's a carry over from years and years ago? Will they ask to see proof from my original loss back then?

Say for instance that my 2006 taxes are fully paid.
Yet for 2007 after I file for my return next year in april that it turns out I underpaid by 2000 dollars.

Will I owe the IRS a penalty for this?

Second senario.

Say that for 2006 my taxes are fully paid.
But for 2007 I am also getting a tax return of around 100 dollars because of all my deductions such as charity, real estate tax and interest etc. Even though I technically underpaid the IRS before the deductions, after the deductions are accounted for I still have a return.

Will I owe any penalty for underpaying before the deductions are accounted for?

Please let me know what my consequences are for both senarios.

I rent a house and have been given permission to rent out a room. I have already had one roommate but she just moved out, so I found another roommate. My landlords just informed me that they get the security deposit from my new roommate, reason being that they are the landlords. I personally don't trust them holding onto that money and am pretty sure that legally my sublessor has no finiancial responsibility to the landlords. As long as the landlords get there monthly rent from me and I take care of any damage my roommate may cause things should be fine, right?

The other day when I talked to a Bank of America CSR, they told me that I could deposit cash into my checking account from my Bank of America Platinum Plus credit card. This card is newly opened, and should have 0% APR and 0% BT through February 2008 (I'm going to verify this to make sure of the terms when I get the card itself, any day now).

My question is...how does the bank make money on this? If there is a 0% APR and BT promotional...I haven't read anything about charging cash onto my credit card, and depositing the cash amount into my checking account. So, how does this work? Even with the 0% APR, are they going to do something like try to clip me with a cash advance fee of some type? I know they make money off from this somehow, since they aren't getting interest right now. Has anyone ever done this, and was there any kind of additional 'fee' for it?

I'm looking for an item of any sort which can easily be bought and resold without significant loss of value. Does anyone know of any stock broker companies that allow you to buy stocks with either paypal or credit card? Preferably, the item would be something like a stock or e-money or something else which could be purchased online and sold online, and costs $5,000 or less.
