I have search and search and lost some money in the process. But I still want to operate my own business. I am of limited funds so I would be looking for something affordable and reasonable.

There are MANY legit businesses out there. And they "work" but only if you really are consistent working them.

Here are some questions you can use when researching any type of home business:

How long has the company been around?

What awards and credentials have they won?

Are they impacted by the economy? (Example - if you have a business that markets consumable goods - things people need and buy month after month - day after day - no matter what the economy - that's great but if you have a business that has a limited line of product or choices (say only skin care and vitamins or only cookware, etc. - you have to ask yourself - if the economy slumps - what is the first thing to go for my customers? fad items, things they can live without in most cases. So you look for something that will have consistent income. and multiple product lines.)

If you have to invest something - how much? Is it guaranteed 100% if you change your mind?

Do they have any contracts or "gotcha" clauses when you start with them?

What is the companies credit rating?

And if you are not wanting to be a distributor or be a part of a multilevel type deal - ask them if their compensation plan is multilevel or single level.

Ask for a copy of annual income statistics - most companies won't want you to see this if they are having to do a little "slight of hand" to make it look good. But if they show you - check and see what people in the company at different statuses are making. What are the averages?

I know of a company that meets all those requirements and you can get going for less than a hundred bucks and its all guaranteed with rock solid credentials.

There are many legit businesses out there but again - working them consistently is what makes them work.

cheers,
Krissy

Hi,

I know that there will be plenty of posts from people who got burned from home based business scams and many will be reluctant to go to a website to check it out.

But, if you're asking the question, here is the answer....
There ARE legitimate home based business opportunities out there !

If you are interested in Network marketing, you may want to check out a legitimate home based business that focuses on building a business based on books, self-improvement, and a culture of charity.

The founders are Robert Allen (Multiple Streams of Income) and Richard Paul Evans (The 5 Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me)

It doesn't get more legit than that.

This is not a get rich quick scheme by any means.

There is extensive company and team training, so you will learn how to build this business the right way.

It is a dynamic, rapidly growing company. But, it is network marketing and you have to build the business. But, it is a great product, great people and fun.

Make sure to exercise due diligence when you are researching any home based business opportunity.

Also, try to find a product or service that you are passionate about. It makes it much easier to be motivated...and if you are motivated you stand a better chance at being successful.

If you choose a Network Marketing company, make sure they have a money back guarantee, have a great marketing system and provide plenty of support and training.

Try to get in on a company opportunity or training call to see what the business is all about and the type of individuals who are running the business.

Contact me through my profile if you are interested in additional information.

Good luck in your work at home search.

Marc

I have been working with my company for the past 2 years and absolutely love it. We work with 2 companies that are publically traded on the New York Stock Exchange so that right there tells you that it is legit. Second, my company is about to embark on a national TV campaign starting at the end of this month which will in no doubt cause a a surge in the market. Business is all about timing and the timing in this business could not get any better. I stay at home with my two children and my wife does have to work any longer as a result of the success I have had with this company. Check out this website:

I am happy to answer any of your questions.

I’ve tried many ways to earn an income from home in the past by stuffing envelopes, surveys, mystery shopping, prepaid legal, market America, ACN, Avon and just lost a lot of time and money in the process. I’d hate for you to go through the same thing. However, I did find a way and a company I will stick with for the rest of my life. Yahoo doesn't allow us to relay links here but just know if the company doesn't offer a full money back guarantee, I would keep looking. Jennifer

I run my own home based business. The intial investment was $49, but I chose to do some training (though it is not necessary to be successul, I just wanted to offer this to businesses as a benefit for their employees). It really works, it is legit and right now is the time to get in it!

The best way is to join an established company with minimum investment. SFI (Strong Future International) Marketing has a 20 years of good tracking records. It is a member of BBB (http://search.bbb.org/) running a reliable program. It offers FREE to sign up as an Affiliate.

I started a home based business that is 100% free. You can do the same. It's legitimate and we are trying to help everyone and make a difference. Again it's free, you don’t have to sell anything, there is no qualifying for income, and all your tools are free. There is nothing to lose and I enjoy it. Let me know if you want more info.
