I already have Private Health Insurance that I pay for.
Will I get a penalty if I do NOT sign up for Medicare right away? I am only 58 and have been on Social Security Disability for just over a year.

If this person worked in the US for several years and was married to an american citizen but then gets divorced and goes back to his/her country, what happens with the earnings accumulated in the social security?if this person returns to the us after some years still can receive the retirement check from whatever had been accumulated in the SS?.....I assume that you won't accumulate any credits for your Government pension offset during the time you are working and living in other country, is this correct?..or unless you work for an American company in the country overseas that could count and credit the earnings to your SS?...

I got a new credit card in the mail through an airline. I didn't know I was applying for a card, I thought I was joining the frequent flyer club.

I have not activated the card. I thought about keeping it in a drawer for emergencies, but the interest is outrageous, so I want to cancel it. If I call to cancel, will that show up on my report as a closed credit card account, or would it not show up at all because I never activated or used the card?

I have a vehicle under my name that I could not afford to pay since I already owned another vehicle I am currently using. My step dad and mother decided to help me out and take ownership except the car is still under my name. Recently they have been behind in car payments for the past 2 months. They are always on time except until now. I know paying on time looks good on your credit and paying late payments is bad. What can I do about this situation? I can't afford the vehicle and I don't want bad credit. Their credit is not all that great to transfer ownership to them. I'm afraid one day the company I am financing it with will one day repossesse the vehicle if this continues.Any suggestions? Anyone had gone through this and what happened in your situation? Thanks!

I am planning on shipping a study manual from Illinois to California. Should I do something like a money order, or a just a personal check? Those are the only 2 options of which I'm aware. Also, how exactly do I ship the item? I guess I would go to a UPS or Fedex store, but do they provide boxes for item? All I would do is pay them at the store for the shipping fee? Thanks.

I've done some crunching on my expenses and I've got to make some hard choices. I've just started a program for an MA in history. My BA is in the same thing. However, it looks like I won't be getting much financial aid, except for loans.

I don't think I can work a full-time job and succeed in grad school. I successfully did it during my undergrad, but grad school takes more concentration. I have enough in savings to last 2 years if I work part time. At the completion of my master's I'll be about broke.

They're offering me $8500 a year in loans, which is about what I need for school and rent. But then I'd be adding $17k to the $10k I already have in student loan debt.

Or I could just finish this semester of school and then go to work somewhere full time for a couple years and come back to school. I worry that this degree won't pay off vs. what I'm going to have to spend to get it, so I'm seriously considering that too. Will an MA really pay off in the workforce?

I was told it was value last month X 0.70= current value.

So if my house was worth $300,000 last month and I multiply that by 0.70 it's current value is $210,000.

Is that correct?

So I'm 24 and only have this associates degree in general studies...can't really hold a job because my school schedule changes each semester and then my job doesn't like it, so I go to another. Always living paycheck to paycheck. A year ago, i was working full time in a bank making $33,000 year. I want to marry my girlfriend and buy a house but can't do it with $33k. I asked my job for more money, they said no, because no B.S. degree. I wanted to go back to school but they wouldn't let me cause I had to work full time. So I quit my bank job and went back to college for a B.S. in business, my state university excepted me right away so I went for it. THE PROBLEM IS: I'm at a distance learning campus, cause the main campus is about 5 hours away where I live. If i stay here at the distance learning campus I can only take 1-2 classes per semester and it would take me like 5 years to finish my 60 credits, but if i go to main campus, i finish 2 years. How do I get more money for school? I apply for FAFSA student loan and get only $1,000 per semester, cause I think because I live with my parents? I don’t know? I need $3,000 for classes alone per semester. Plus I need an apartment and pay my bills. If I get married now, will I get more aid? If I leave my parents and live alone, will I get more money? I need help please, this situation is really making me depressed. The only real problem I have is this. Sucks, 24 and no money living with parents. I’m trying to change my life, give me advice.
God Bless You for reading this and for your advice!

They are only giving us 150.00 to buy new clothes for work does this seem like a reasonable amount to you? I am pretty much just venting...I dont have anything even close to what they want us to wear and i dont have the means to buy a new wardrobe, how can they expect us to just change a whole wardrobe like that? give me a break!!!

what is considered a direct violation? i was discharged because i worked at a call center and was accused of dropping calls but that's not true and when i asked them if they recorded it so that i can hear it the company denied me from that and told me the tape was not available at the time

Hey! I am also planning to move out of my grandparents house but my boyfriend will be moving with me and i have made a list of calculations that i think might be what i will have to pay but i want your feed back to see if i am close.Me and my boyfriend will try to split everything half and half. Here are my calculations.

Per person::
Rent:$500.00
Water and sewer:$25.00
Garbage:$13.00
Electricity:$50.00
Groceries:$35.00
Cable and internet:$50.00
Gas and car insurance:$500.00 (a month)
Cell phone:$50.00
**TOTAL: $1223.00**

The numbers above are half the price of the actual cost im calculating because my boyfriend will be paying the other half.

Also i came out with a work plan that i think might keep me in this range if i am correct. If I work 8 hour days 6 days a week for $8.00 per hour, i should be making $384.00 a week. If i get payed at the end of every month i should get $1536.00. I should also have an extra $313.00 a month after bills and everything...Right?

This is really starting to P*SS me off. I used the entire $2000 limit of my credit card a few months ago (little by little). I did get overdraft charges because I didn't know that the interest was so high. I've not used any more credit the past few months. Here are the past few months (someone please explain what's going on):

July -
Balance - $2042.73 ($42.73 over limit)
Min Payment - $52.00
Paid - $118
Interest - $40.65
Overlimit fee - $39.00
New Balance - $2007.38

August -
Balance - $2007.38 ($7.38 over)
Min Payment - $61.00
Paid - $145.00
Late Fee - $39.00 (1 day late)
Interest - $58.00
New Balance - $1999.34

September -
Balance - $1999.34
Min Payment - $118.00

WHAT THE H*LL IS GOING ON?!?!

Have my minimum payments increased because of the overdraft charges or what?

Why has my interest payment increased?

I'm 21; will I be 40 before I ever pay this off?
