Terminology doesn't sound familiar, but my guess is a duplex, because they are 2 separate homes usually connected by a common wall or garage, and half of a duplex is one home, or could be considered a "double house". Could also be what's referred to as a "twin home" which is pretty much the same thing.

Perhaps you mean a duplex, which is a building where two homes are joined by a common wall. Half of one would be called halfplex here in California.

It looks like a regular house but is divided in that you and your neighbor have a common wall the shape of one home but contains two., most likely identical
