At work I am constaly being called someone elses name. I work in a place that over 80 employees but only three of us are African-American. What is fustrating about this situation is that I am constantly being called the other black womens names. We all are differnet people, and do not look alike nor do or names sound alike but we are constaly mistaken for one another. I do not know how the other women feel but this is a real problem for me (after trying to let it go before). Many of my co-workers will try to correct themselves as to why the called me so and so, only to stick their foot in their mouths. It is important to get the name right b/c their is legal documentation involved and we have been mixed up so much it has created a real problem that falls back on the (3) of us to fix it. Not to mention one of the ladies is not well liked and I frequently get in to trouble on her behalf alot. How can I address this problem and get white co workers to get the names right?

I just recently chose Dental Hygiene as my major and I'm beginning to have second thoughts about it. I've just read about Rad techs and the thought of working with machines and top of the line technology while being in the health field really interests me. Is Radiologic technology a good career to pursue? Is the pay as good as a hygienest? Is it a stable career and how is the job outlook?

What's the deal with property taxes, or, for that matter, with all the taxes in Florida? I live in Texas and there's a property tax of the total property value set usually around 1.5 to 2%. That's roughly $5000 for a $250,000 home. In Florida, it seems, taxes are MUCH lower for property. This seems too good to be true. Yet, there are countless legislative bills going through demanding that taxes be lowered. What is really going here? How much would an average resident expect to pay annually in taxes (not just property)?

Also, can anyone explain what 'millage' is? I'm completely lost here and am obviously missing something if you can move to Florida, have a million dollar home and barely pay anything in taxes on it (~$10,000 or so annually).

I bought a home with a girl I am no longer seeing. She asked me to move out and I told her I could not afford rent and the morgage. She said her mom would help and not to worry about it. Later I signed papers to get my name off the deed for the house. My name is still on the mortgage. Is there anything I can do beyond her refinancing the house in her own name to fix this? I need out of this situation and I don't no what to do

I've been looking for a new job lately and I've come across some seemingly run of the mill clerical work, but under the job requirements it says that I'll have to have my credit checked. What does my personal credit have to do with me working?

I have a job that travels aot. I currently rent a very small "cheap" place in California. I want to take advantage of the market and buy a house so that I can also use it as a tax break. The one I like is 20 acres on the river that has a house on it back home in Kentucky. I want to buy it and use it for vacations for now but i'm unsure on the taxes. Should I double up and pay it off faster to aviod interest? Or should I make the lowest payment possible to take advantage of the interest while putting the rest in savings. I don't have ANY tax write offs currently and Uncle Sam is going to slam me this year. The place is 140k and someday i plan on building my dream home on it.

I work for Domino's and was wondering if when tax season comes I have to fill out anything special in regards to tips. Domino's reports all of my tips to the IRS and takes taxes directly out of my paycheck for tips. Will I have to pay additional taxes on my tipped earnings or has Domino's taken care of everything for me? Obviously I have kept all of my driver's slips for each delivery which include the amount of the delivery, tip received, and whether it was a credit card transaction in case I get audited, but is this all I have to do? Thanks.
