well it would be in the best interest of the employee / legal or illegal to be layed off . usually there is a package with a layoff , extra weeks pay, outplacement counseling / services , unemployment, etc.
i would not assume that anyone is going anywhere until it happens. The scrubs are long / legal usually has to sign off on them to minimize risks. It can look one way and change quickly.

Forget all this tell on them stuff as, like others said, it could back fire on you. Working hard to prove your worth is also a good idea. However, I believe that the last to be hired are the first to leave is what laws mandate basically. Go to your states .gov web site to find out what applies to your situation.

Its not your problem if you are legal, they should have done better background checks before hiring the illigals. I would mind my own business and show how valuable I am to the company by working hard.

It's 2 questions. Should you report them? Yes. Does it have anything to do with the current situation? Not really.

Report the illegals. They are breaking the law, as is the employer for hiring them.

your boss could face stiff penalties for this, and if he/she finds out you brought this kind of heat on him/her, your out the door, big time.
Now, if your canned and you cant get un-employment money?
then I would talk to him/her, and discuss a few things, you know what I mean?

If they are illegal you should have informed immigration as soon as you had proof. How do you know if they are legal?
