I hired a print design company to design a brochure for our company. They had it nearly finished and went into administration. This company was bought out by a bigger company. I have paper copies and pdf of the 'almost done' proof. One of the 4 original employee left tells me that nothing has changed and everything goes ahead as it was with the old company. I heard the rumour and was forced phone them as they didn't bother to let me know. I had to coax this employee into telling me her company went into administration and now am having difficulty trusting what they say. Can we take the proofs and run? Nothing has been signed by us or the original company.

Should I double up on this stock ?

This is an equity buyout company much like Blackstone. But unlike Blackstone * fig (Fortress) has made several good buys and has equity of their own but....

Fortress Investment Group (FIG - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) was one of the few losers of the day, after some bad publicity in The Wall Street Journal. The hedge fund and investment management firm slipped 20 cents to $17.64 after the Journal reported subprime mortgage lending companies it owned were foreclosing on 34 New Orleans homes. The news proved embarrassing for Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, a frequent critic of lenders foreclosing on Hurricane Katrina victims, who worked for Fortress after leaving the U.S. Senate in 2005.

I'm a Japanese girl getting married to an English guy next year. But we are planning to move to the West Coast since my company has a branch there.
He earns 450 pounds per day in UK, and he's been offered for a position permanetnly for 80-120K + pension + insurance. But we're both not sure how good this offer is, as we have never lived in the States before.
Especially, I haven't lived in both UK or US, so I don't have a clue. Thinking of myself getting a job for 50K (guessing) anualy, would this be enough to have familly and kids, with a safe place to live?
I'm seriously seeking for guidance.

Unfortunately I am an adult otherwise I would go to the dollar store buy some candy and go door to door. My poor girl has a tumor on the side of her body and they say it will cost anywhere from 700-1000 dollars to remove it and test it to see if it is cancer or not. I am very tapped out financially and just don't have the money but love my dog very much and feel that I hold the responsibility of making sure she gets the medical attention that she needs. I need some fund raising ideas. All Ideas are greatly appreciated. Or if anyone knows of any non profit organizations that can help me out that would be great. I seriously think there should be a non-profit organization that raises money for animals that need surgery. If there isn't one already, after I get through this I may look into what it takes to start one up. My love for animals is great and I would want to help everyone in my situation if I could. Thanks (I have no idea how to classify this question, sorry if I pick the wrong1)

I need to lay a tile floor in a house I'm fixing up for sale. Materials run about $500. Installation will be maybe $1500. I believe I can deduct labor and materials when the man comes in April. If I do it myself, I save the 1500, but I'm out the hours. Can I pay myself to maintain the deduction? I'm not a contractor and don't have a company from which to draw a check. Which would be most cost effective?

I was renting an apartment with a roommate. I moved out of the property (roommate stayed) giving the landlord written notice that I was moving and the security deposit should remain on the current account. This letter was accepted and I thought all was well and finished, however, I recently was notified that I am still being held responsible for the account there at the property because my roommate didn't give written notice that she was aware that I moved out and she agreed to have the deposit remain on her account. Is the legal?
