Your social security number isn't changing. So, the card companies will track you down, eventually your account will go to collections, and a BIG BLACK MARK will show up on your credit report (your score will probably drop 150 or 200 points). Then, when you want to get a loan to buy a house, or a car, or get a new credit card, you won't be able to get one very easily because they will pull your credit report, and see that you do not pay your bills. It will take many months to raise your score back up, and you will end up paying not only the original credit card amount, but also fees, and interest that could more than double the amount that you originally owed.
I hope that helps.

Well, there are several factors to consider. For example did you change your name with the social security administration, remember that your ss# plays a major role in you credit identity. Also consider that your decision to stop paying on your credit cards is being made after you have married, and depending in what state you live in , this might give the credit card companies the right to negatively report on your spouses credit. Then it would be the usual 7 years from your last date of activity yada yada yada.

They will find you. They will hound you. Take you to court and get a judgment, garnish your wages, attach your bank accounts, and lien your property.
Your credit will be trashed. You won't be able to get a decent interest rate for a car loan or mortgage. Your car insurance rate will go up. You won't be considered for some jobs.
You ran up those cards. Now pay them.

the credit card company will harass you for about 8 months (if they can find you) and after that they may enter suit, but i doubt it, if you can put up with the harassment then you will be okay. this happened to me due to loss of my job and some health problems but now i never hear from them.
