I asked an earlier question..I applied for a mortgage in early July, bought furniture on July 29th, I'm scheduled to close next week. I opened up a credit card that I can use only at the furniture store. It will not be charged until delivery, which I will not do after my closing. Will it show up on my credit report before the end of August even if I haven't even charged anything onto it?

i will have a slightly bigger bedroom and a walkin closet with a bathroom. but i also put down 1900 dollars upfront cuz she would need a cosigner and noone will do that for her cuz of her bad credit no rental history and being unemployed so she doesnt have money to pay for anything i said she could pay me back later when she got a job.
i also paid the deposit and both of our application fees

Does anyone else feel that i am wrong for wanting her to pay an equal part of the rent.
we have not signed a lease yet and we wont if we cant come to some agreement

i got a check from my insurance agency, im not sure why so im debating wether to deposit it or not... if i deposit it on my bank of america account and it turns out it doesnt have any funds, will i be charged for it>??? how does it work? if so why would it be my fault if i got the check and all im doing is cashing it .. isnt it the company's fault for sending a check with no funds... but then it should have funds since its a big company and not a personal check. right??? what should i do ?

Then He came back on the line. then he said "Okay We are about to start a new radio station so tell me do you like spanish music. I said no Only english. Then He asked "Does your Dad Like Spanish Music?".. Then I heard a little click and I said "Yes" Then I heard the click again.(Then I though Holy **** they were recording parts of what I said) So he continued talking like normal and all I said was "WHAT THE ****" So he just said ok thank you for your time and he hung up.

Does replacing window blinds increase my basis in my house if the replacement blinds were the same as those replaced? The old ones were 20 years old, Ive been here 2 years. I keep track of capital improvements to correctly calculate my gain, if there is one, when I eventually sell. Im not selling now so this isnt preparation for a sale. Does replacing blinds increase the basis? How about adding ceiling fans, dimmer switches, painting? I assume new (better) lights and adding dimmers is a yes, painting is a no, and blinds are a ???
Thanks for any expertise.

I am just curious to hear what hand fate has dealt people in terms of property. You hear stories about people making an offer on their dream home, then things go wrong and the property slips through their fingers. If you have been in this position, what happened to you? Did an even better place come along or are you still dreaming of the property you lost?

If you've seen my other questions tonight, you'll know why I am asking this :-) But this isn't really advice for me - I would just like to hear your stories.

xx Emmie

My husband currently works in restaurant management. Good pay,but he works every other day for 16 hrs. on his feet. The company just hired a new district manager & is now trying to show his authority. My husband has been with the company for 2 years and enjoys the customer service aspect, but as many of you know, restaurant management is very difficult. He has been given an offer to make a career change in insurance sales. They said they would give him 1/4 of their existing clients and mentor him to start out. We would have to try to adjust to a 1099 lifestyle. He would also be home every night with his family and home on weekends, which never happens now. Is this a wise career move? Just wondering if anyone could give some advice or questions he should ask before accepting this job. Thanks in advance for the help!
