Insurance on an umbrella? Are you talking about a hand held umbrella to keep the rain off of your face or am I missing the point here? Generally speaking, an umbrella would be covered under your homeowners although it would have to be a REALLY expensive umbrella to negate the $500 or more deductible you have on your policy. And if it is that expensive, why would you take it out in the rain lol, j/k!

Good luck!

I really hope you are talking about getting an umbrella insurance policy, not actually getting insurance on an umbrella!!!
An umbrella policy helps protect you over and above the policy limits you are currently carrying on your other policies. Most umbrella policies require you to carry a little higher limits on your home and auto policies, but is well worth it if you ever need coverage.
Umbrellas do not usually cost a lot especially considering the amount of coverage they provide.
Any insurance agent can provide this to you, so check with who you are currently insured with

Actually you CAN get insurance on an umbrella if it is really worth it for you. The policy is called a personal articles policy and protects items specifically itemized on the contract i.e. wedding rings, art or even an umbrella. What you would have to do though is have it appraised or have a current receipt (usually within a year) to prove its value. Good luck!
