My 18 year old daughter came home last Saturday (after I finally got a hold of her) drunk and late (4:00 a.m.) I have grounded her for a month. She says that I am a Pschyo and she doesn't want to live here anymore. She says that she should have her freedom and be able to come home whenever she wants to because she's an adult. She's so mad at me that she called her ESTRANGED father, whom she hated up until this happened, to come and get her. She is staying with him supposely for 4 days. She's usually a really good kid but she has this 22 year old boyfriend who thinks she should do what she wants to do. I believe he threatened to break up with her if she could not go out this weekend, (she say that has nothing to do with it). My daughter has turned into a pathological lyer. She also has ADHD, I think she may be OCD as well. This episode is just ripping my heart out. I told her dad why she was grounded, she told him I was lying. I'm losing my daughter. What do I do? Am I wrong?

I keep hearing from Civil Engineering companies that they can't find qualified applicants to fill their positions and complain there is a shortage of engineers in America. Which there are no statistics or evidence supporting that claim.

I'm trying to find out a concrete answer to this vague and ambiguous question.

Me and my guy play SimCity. We made Chicago together and have been keeping it up. So weve been filling up Downtown building spaces with stores that we will never afford in real life. But we bumped heads when we came to one space. He wanted to move a Saks Fifth in, only problem was Saks Fifth ALREADY had another store. I did not think they needed another one, so I wanted to make the place a Talbots. Its still clothing. I love my friend, but this no hair cut having fool is outta his mind to give somebody two stores when it can be diversified. Forget him and Saks Fifth right now. I should turn that place into another fu-king NikeTown and see how he likes that. This is why Im gonna major in business and he'll die in his mom's basement.

If your neighbors are destroying your property with their sewage and stormwater and you can't stop them without going to court, can your insurance company hold that against you?
Even if you have done everythng possible short of suing? If your insurance is cancelled, will another company insure you under the circumstances?

My situation: I gamble way too much. I just left a Manager Level Corporate Job to become a consultant. On my new job I'll have to travel to client sites each week and back to my state of residence. Because I have gambled away all of my cash and credit (literally down to $11 cash i have left) I'm sort of stuck. I have no family that I can go to and it's too embarrassing to ask friends although I'm not sure they could help either. What I really need to know is how to ask my new employer to cover my travel expenses for me without revealing my personal situation... Please offer answers on that only. I don't need to be beaten up over letting myself get into this situation.

My girlfriend and I are 100% sure that we are going to move in together and eventually get married after high school (we're both juniors). My question to you guys is this, what kind of money will we need to make to support ourselves? This including rent, bills, food, some entertainment, and what not. As long as there is a roof over our heads, food in the fridge, and our bills are paid, we'd be happy. We wont be living in any big cities, but rather upper Michigan in a mid-sized town. Also, what kind of jobs are out there for someone who doesn't want to go to college or a trade school? Thanks for any help you can give me.
P.S. I will be moving from PA to MI when I graduate, so it's not like I could get a job now and try and move up in the ranks by the time this happens, thanks.

I work in customer service, taking calls from my home for a corporation. The daily shift is 8 hours and I am on the phone at least 5 hours, most of the times 6 hours. Does $12.00 an hour seem like a fair compensation for call center type of work such as mine, or am I being exploited ? Company does provide some benefits. Thanks so much !

The property is listed by a realtor for $249,500, but we know if is a foreclosed property. We are planning to go straight to the bank and make an offer. The property has been on the market since this March, but we are not real sure what we should say in making an offer.

If your insurance company pays you a small amount for a large loss and you then sue the party who caused the loss, what complications can there be for you? Are there conflicts of interest sometimes which prevent an insurance company from pursuing subrogation? If they do pursue subrogation, do they share in paying the legal fees.? If they are also insuring those who caused the loss, will they pay out under those people's insurance?

I have a $ 227.00 difference between what my personnel action report from my bosses says and what actually shows up as my salary on my paycheck- shouldn't they match? Do they have to reimburse what they haven't paid? I just realized this has been going on for 6 months.

As I`ve noticed from yearly statistics, the average salary in my profession seems to be $65k per year in U.S. (I`m currently in Europe and have a B1-Visa, though my wife and kids don`t have VISA).

The question is whether it`s possible to live a normal life with a family of 5, where wife isn`t and wouldn`t be working - thus it would be the only income. With 2-3 more yrs of experience, I could jump to around $75k, which I know is enough to survive from month to month.
Of course, I`m not talking about living in those more expensive places like SanFran, NYC or Bay area - there are many cheaper places in U.S. where costs of living are significantly lower, while salaries are just 10% lower (compared to national average in given field).

How much would I actually get from that $65k salary to my bank account after all taxes ? Range is enough. I`d guess around $3100 ?

What about medical insurance ? How much does that usually cost each month

I was buying books for school on my credit card, and I went about $50 over my credit card limit (which is about $500). My mom says that going over my limit is going to hurt her credit score. Is this true?

A friend of mine owes taxes on her home from 2006. She said that if she doesn't pay by the end of the month that they will sue her? Does the government sue for stuff like this or do they just tack on a bunch of penalties and interest? Can they take her house?

My wife and I own a house and are trying to obtain a new Homeowners insurance policy. You see, we've lived here for 2 yrs and were robbed 2x in the first 13 months...We since installed a GOOD alarm system, put security doors up and haven't had any problems. It's not a bad neighborhood perse, maybe just bad luck, living on a corner and such.
Our Insurance is "non-renewing" our policy and we're trying to find a new one, but it's tough as you can probably guess. It's REALLY PISSING me off, as this is not our fault, we make sufficient income, have EXCELLENT credit (I know this means little to insurance), but are currently working with the company that handles our car insurance. They tried one place and were told no and are currently looking into another.
What happens if we aren't able to find anything, at least right away? I believe that our mortgage company says that we need insurance (states on contract). We only have about a week to find something, otherwise...
Advice?

I am about to move and have been receiving applications for credit cards and am afraid that the new person moving into my old place might be able to fill these out and use my credit (which is finally good) to do damage. What, if anything can I do to prevent this from happening???
Thanks
