I am curious what kind of tax return I will get on all the overtime I will have worked this year. I file single and claim 0 and usually get a decent return, but this year is different in that I have a salary then on top of that I am paid overtime which I am charged roughly 40% to taxes.
Also, why tax overtime pay more than salaried pay?

The last 2 days.. I've been freaking out...

DH and I are doing a rent-to-own thing for a house. We get posession late Aug, beginning of Sept.
We have to come up with $5000 by closing, and another $5000 within 4 months once we're in.
This is doable.. but I'm freaking out about it.

Where we are now, we are behind in our rent, but paying as often as we can.... The place is turning into a dump, and I"m asking for some of the money to be taken off of what we owe because of the way the building is.

I don't think we'll get an eviction notice, but I'm totally freaking out thinking we may before we move into the new place... I'm going to give notice on August 1 (Gives us til mid Sept just in case)(Our property manager is a mega-***** on a power trip so I can't really talk to her)
I was totally excited, now I'm completely stressed out...
1> Can we come up with the money in time
2> What if we get an eviction notice before Aug 1
etc etc etc.

What do I do

My husband and I were ready to make an offer on a condo, when I decided to do a little research on it, I found out that it has had a failed septic since January, and the town had rejected the recent proposal to make a it town sewage less than a week ago. Even though I had specifically asked about the septic no one had told me this. There are also a few other issues I have simple questions about, and despite asking the questions repeatedly no one is giving me any answers. We love the place, but I have some questions I need answered, what should we do?

Does anyone know if you can enter into an agreement (in Texas) where the purchase contract states, "subject to existing financing via silent assumption" and it is legally binding? I believe the owner is still financially liable for the mortgage but how would the logistics be handled with owner? seller? bank?

I just moved in yesterday in a new apartment. When we looked at the apartments before the ones they showed us were nice but the one we got is horrible. holes, stains, paint everywhere. I had directv hooked up and now they are charging me for damages to the apartment and now making us put a deposit down for the satelite which was never mentioned even when i told them i was going to get directv. I know i can back out of the lease but only with paying rent until it gets rented and or fines for breaking the lease. Is there a certain period i can opt out of the lease without having that happen??? I live in minnesota if that helps i know laws are different in other states. Please help i want out of here now!!!

I received a call from a man claiming to be calling from social security to say i was entitled to $300 for the next six months to be deposited in my bank account. THey said it was because I paid taxes and I had no arrest record. Is this a legitimate call or is this some kind of scam? Has anyone ever heard of this?

Is it ethical for a company to assume assets are in use on the first day of the following month after they are purchased when computing depreciation? For example, if assets were purchased Feb. 8, but they are recorded in use starting March 1. I know the previous rule for depreciation assumes all assets are in use on the first day of the month closest to the purchase date. I didn't know if it was okay to do it the following month or not? Also, if assets were assumed in use on the following month, would this increase the profit margin?

My california real estate broker told me over the phone that she shredded my deposit check even after I told her I'll pick it up. I asked her if I can have the shredded check back she tells me she threw it away. When I asked her if I can have copy of my bank statements & fico score which I provided for her earlier she tells me that she's busy today, tomorrow & next day. And then she tries to sell me other available properties that I am not interested. All I want is to have my documents back. Should I just let go those documents and move on? Is it normal for real estate broker to keep its client's documents?

If you win a-lot of money, why do they take out the taxes? I know if you buy something you haft to pay tax, but why do they take out the tax if you won a-lot of money? That's your money that you have won. You should keep all of your money.

About a month ago a coworker brought up an error I had made to my boss. As humilated as I was I decided that I needed to pay more attention to detail as a result of this. I was angry because this coworker and I work together daily and when she makes errors I correct them without making a scene or even telling her sometimes. Of course, I could not use this argument with boss so I decided to start documenting. In the last 30 days this coworker has made 13 errors. Each error I alert the coworker to make corrections and return to me via email. Instead of pointing this out to my boss I alerted my coworker that there were quite a few errors being made on their end. I said this in the most tactful way. Now my coworker is saying that I changed their information to look like they've made these mistakes. I've got solid proof including emails from her that this is untrue. She is threatening to report me. Should I tell my boss first and show her the emails or wait and see what she does first?
