I just moved in yesterday in a new apartment. When we looked at the apartments before the ones they showed us were nice but the one we got is horrible. holes, stains, paint everywhere. I had directv hooked up and now they are charging me for damages to the apartment and now making us put a deposit down for the satelite which was never mentioned even when i told them i was going to get directv. I know i can back out of the lease but only with paying rent until it gets rented and or fines for breaking the lease. Is there a certain period i can opt out of the lease without having that happen??? I live in minnesota if that helps i know laws are different in other states. Please help i want out of here now!!!

I would go to the leasing office and talk to them...most states have 30 day to get off the lease...
each states have different law and rules about leasing an apartment...before signing the lease, must read the small fine prints...

EEEKKKK ! ! ! Another one who made the error of renting based upon viewing a "model unit". NEVER EVER do that again. You should ALWAYS get to see the actual unit in which you will be living prior to signing a lease. If the landlord won't show it to you, walk away and find a different apartment.

When you got the keys to the unit and discovered what was behind the door, you should have called management IMMEDIATELY to verify the condition of the apartment prior to moving in, with promises that the issues would be rectified and that you would not be held liable.

This is so ugly I suggest that you retain an attorney.

You can't opt out of the lease once you have signed it. Talk to the landlord, sometimes they are willing to let your break the lease. Next time ask to view the apartment you are living in before you sign the lease.

if its not the apartment they showed u then i would talk to the manager about it immediately. let them know about all the damages. give them an oppurtunity to fix it. if they dont then they might hold u to the full terms of the lease if u move out early. i think ur best bet is to have the manage do a walk through, point out all the damages, and give them an oppurtuntiy to fix it first.

I hate to assert it your signed a criminal criminal responsibility and also you could't spoil it.... you need to have checked the realm first Its no longer the landlords's fault yet yours you need to have executed your study. the owner gave you a call to pay $1120 and depart some gained't attempt speaking on your landlord that in lieu of each little thing you're in basic terms transferring out..... lose the money and do not risk the destiny risk of your baby.
