I have a $ 227.00 difference between what my personnel action report from my bosses says and what actually shows up as my salary on my paycheck- shouldn't they match? Do they have to reimburse what they haven't paid? I just realized this has been going on for 6 months.

Sorry I might sound confusing here- My report from my bosses is saying my current salary is $2951.00, but my paycheck (before anything is deducted) says $2,724.00

Ask at your HR or payroll department for an explanation. I'll give you a possibility.

$227 is exactly 7.65% of $2951. Your employer's personnel action report includes the employer's contribution to your Social Security and Medicare. These contributions are made to the SSA on your behalf and do not appear on your paystub. It is an annoying technicality for this amount to be listed in your personnel action report, but not unknown.

But, ask to make sure.

I'm a little confused here. You say your salary on the report is LESS than your paycheck - then you talk about them reimbursing the difference. Sounds like you are getting paid MORE than the report says.

Talk to you supervisor or your payroll department. There's no way to tell which is right. But yes, they should match.

Take your check and the paperwork to either your immediate supervisor or the payroll office and ask for an explanation of the discrepancy. My agency shows what you would make per hour including benefits and all they pay for on a yearly basis and it is FAR MORE than what my paycheck states. It might be one of those statements.

I would bring up to hr like the person stated earlier. It would suck to have to pay back some money later on down the road.

Could the difference be your 401K deduction or another pretax deduction like for cafeteria plan or AFLAC?

Bring it up to HR or your payroll department?
