Unfortunately they do not those S.O.B.'s. Gotta love those Employee-At-Will states. Damn laws have to be reamended eventually. But this doesn't mean you cannot ask why. Just file for unemployment. They obviously gave you no reason so there was no specific cause. If they argue you were a slow worker or anything to that effect it won't fly with U.I. They do not make determinations based on an employer's opinion of a former employees work productivity.

Absolutely. In Canada it has to be listed on the record of employment that the company is obligated to send out within 2 weeks I believe of termination.

Not in California. We are an "at will" state. All employees are employed at the will of the employer.

You know these days they can come up lame excuses, normally they have to and probably have covered this with the HR dept. so you can not get unemployment.. been there done that
