I am looking to open an online savings account. I already have some money in a CD, so I'm looking for a savings account because of the flexibility. I noticed e-loan has one with a variable 5.25% savings account with min. $5000 to open. ING has a variable 4.50% savings account with no min. to open. Are either of these companies reputable? Are there other companies online I should look at?

I am looking for someone or something to answer this question for me. I have a home mortgage at 5.75% with 28 years on it fixed, and I also have a student loan at 4.125% with 25 years on it fixed. The mortgage is around $200k, and the student loan around $30k. I need to know if it is better to pay off the student loan first, and then use that extra monthly payment to pay off or down the mortgage, or is it better to pay down the mortgage since it is at a higher interest rate. Both payments are tax deductible, and I am in the 28% tax bracket. I have no other debt. I am working on creating a savings account to cover expenses in case of an emergency, and I contribute the max each year to my ira account. I can not get a 401k. I have 2 young children, that I need to start saving for their college, but have not done so yet.
Anyone know of a good calculator that will let me plug in my numbers to see where I can obtain the best results with any extra income? Thank you.

Keep in mind I know next to nothing about money, so any and all advice will be appreciated. Basically, I'm looking to know what would be some good directions for investment? Stock market? Foreign currencies? I honestly have no clue, and also, what types of people I could consult with for further advice - and who if anyone I should trust to invest my money. Thanks.

At first my refund status was showing as being "processed, look for it by Feb 6". Now it is showing "We are sorry, we cannot provide any information about your refund."

Any idea what this means

I was wondering how much you could make and still qualify for that bonus the government gives out. My wife didn't really make anything this year, less than 3,000 dollars total for the year, and I heard that in the governments eyes that means we are living off basically my income alone so they give you a bonus. Does anyone know about how much that usually is, and what is the maximum you can make and still qualify?

When your child, spouse, or parent is ill, or when you have a new baby, you either keep working or lose pay while you take off work. But buying insurance that pays 70% of your salary for up to 12 weeks per year of Family Leave could cost as little as 0.4% of your salary--that is just $3.57 a month if you make minimum wage, or just $16.67 a month if you make $50,000 per year.
Your answers may be just what's needed to bring such an insurance product to market--today you can not purchase this insurance.
