Why would someone who has already gained an organization’s top job (chief executive officer) want to participate in employee development activities such as the CEO Academy?

My college uses credit-card-shaped ID cards. They swipe the card when you buy meals. Recently, they haven't been able to successfully swipe the card. I think it's because of the gunk stuck to its black strip. This gunk won't come off with simple rinsing.

How do I clean off the gunk? Can I scrub it with a toothbrush? Scratch it off with my nails? Soak it in detergent? I don't want to ruin the strip.

I was on a site I liked but I cannot find it again.

Basically, you type keywords that apply to your web site. It searches out a bunch of related-sites that are appropriate and will allow you to add your url/submit your own site.

I don't want a service that will submit my site to a jillion search engines. I want to my url one-at-a-time to specific sites. This web page searched out places to do that.

There is a gym that I signed up for and they automatically take out their money from your checking account everything month. The thing is that, when I sign up for it, I was employed, but I'm currently unemployed so that money wouldn't be in there the time they take it out. Once they take it out, I will have an overdraft. My question is, can a bank stop that transaction on the day they take the money out?

I am looking into purchasing the upper duplex unit of a duplex property. My uncle owns the bottom unit, and I want to purchase the top from my father. I had a roof leak from hail damage. I think we have mold in our atticor somewhere in the house. Our adjuster didn't check it, I can't get in there because of my asthma. I have a musty smell all through my house and my son and I keep getting sick. Will insurance cover it since it covered the roof? If our lab test says we have mold, what should we do?

Hello,

I would like to get a personal loan to pay off my credit cards. My credit is not that good, so does anyone know the chances of me joing the local credit union and securing a personal loan with them? (would it be crazy to apply for a $5000 loan?)

I have a good job, I have never been late with my car payment. I'm just overwhelmed at all the seperate credit card payments I have. I want to start fresh & get out of debt!

About how much do you need to start an account w/ a credit union?

I work at an educational institution where the students MUST purchase their textbooks with a MONEY ORDER-not cash, credit cards, etc. Money orders cost money. Is it legal and/or ethical to require someone to purchase a product with a form of payment that REQUIRES one to purchase another product (i.e., the money order) when other forms of payment don't have that surcharge, i.e., cash, debit cards, etc?

I recently turned 18 and im in a great living situation. i live with my dad, make about 1000 a month and im a musician. I wanted to buy a new bass and amp, but more importantly need to start my credit. I already have the money to buy the bass today, but i wanna see if i can start my credit with this purchase.The stores i went to say i need at least a 700 score to apply for their credit.
Is there any credit i can apply for, without having to pay financing and apr and so on without having credit to begin with. My plan is to buy the bass with credit, pay it off right away, and probably cancel the card right after.

Why can't we give neighborhood jobs to people on welfare? Why can't they pick up their neighborhoods? They don't need a car to get to work or fancy clothes. Pick 1 welfare lady in the hood and make her the daycare lady. Drop your kids off here and go pick up trash. The city is loaded with trash. I have carpal tunnel; I got a job with a state govt. agency. I had very specific job task descriptions, none of which would necessitate accommodations for or mention of my carpal tunnel syndrome (I can type 75 wpm for hours with no problem, for example). A few months later, I was told to do some straight computer data entry task--a task never mentioned in my job duties or description. (I have a Ph.D. and think straight data entry is a waste of my abilities--but that's another story). I told the manager that I would try my best, but that I had carpal tunnel & I didn't know how much I could do. I was told I HAD to do all that was assigned to me for this particular project. I complained to the HR office, and mentioned my carpal tunnel for the first time, because I was suddenly given a task that could be impacted by it. We had a meeting; I was given a 'stern lecture' that I should have mentioned my condition anyway when I was hired. Was I irresponsible or just using my discretion?

My Superego is telling me to be a good boy, swallow some pride and put in my two weeks notice. I will finish with grace, not burn a bridge make a little cash and move on.

My Id is tell me to bring a can of gasoline to work tomorrow, a book of matches, some hot dogs and hamburgers and have a good time with it. (not really, but I would just walk out) I wouldn't even say anything and I would change my phone numbers.

I imagine when I am 87 years old and lying on my death bed, I would have rathered made my point by getting the hell out instead of sugar coating my exit from the company.

What do you think?
