I know there are a lot of payment gateways online today, and they all have their perks, but my concern is this: are they really secure? Call me cynical or paranoid, but I don't fancy the thought of someone else filching my hard-earned money.

I went with him during the initial purchase and the slick talking salesman at Sears sold him a stove and told him it would be exactly the same thing but in the color black. Well, dad was a little confused, and I figured I would just let him order whatever he wanted to keep his dignity and he purchased the stove with his Sears card. I was at work when the product arrived and was installed, and was appalled because it was not what he ordered. The salesman sent a black stove, but not what he ordered. Even dad knew it was not what he ordered. I called Sears to tell them and they told me the signatures and the order number were the same. I think the slick salesman was trying to sell something to an old man and got over on him.
Dad landed in a nursing home. No one had POA, and no one was sure of where his money went or came. The stove didnt get paid for. Now sears wants someone to pay for it. I paid the money to bury dad. Do I pay for the stove or drop it. Is it my responsiblity?

Should I move abroad to work in order to learn a language or shall I stay in the UK and study something at college/university?

I thought that if I return to the UK with 1 or 2 languages it might help me getting a good job, but perhaps it is better to study something in England instead? What would you do? By the way, I have no idea what career I want to persue!

Ok, I have shares that have a restriction 144 on them. I have gone through the waiting period and instructed my broker to have the restriction lifted. I have filled out all the forms necessary, and was told that by the broker that their paralegal would handle it from here. As far as I know, all that is needed is approval by the issuer, a letter of opinion by their council and a new certificate. This has been going on for 2 months now, and my broker keeps telling me that they have not heard anything new from the paralegal as far as developments. I mean, should I not get updates on what is going on aside from..."when we hear from the paralegal..we will let you know"? How long can this take? And why do I feel as if there's no sense of urgency in the process? I would think they'd be happy to make a commission, but it seems like this just sits on the back burner or something. Can anyone shed light on this for me please. Thanks.

what does the DR letters mean on cash-point receipts?. It is the two letters after the amount it says is in your account.

I have had an overdraft with my bank since I was a student and even though I no longer use the overdraft facility, the money that enters my account, I am unable to tell how much I have when I am not sure what the DR means and if I am in credit or debit?.

my account is £1600 overdrawn for instance and money going in is paying that back for example, even though it isn't as I need and use the money going in. That means that my overdraft will read as if it is going down each time but when I get receipts from cash-points, I can't tell if the amount it states on there is what I have to use or what I have to minus from the overall overdraft?.

If I paid £900 into my account for instance, what would it mean if the receipt from cash-point say £900.67 DR? - hope someone can help - there is no minus sign?

Tax Questions - Independant Contractor?
My bf was very briefly (Very.. like a month and a half) employed somewhere where the employer never asked for their social and never put them on official payroll. However, they would like to file what little income was received (less than $1200, can they just fill out a 1099 and send it in with the rest of their taxes? Is it that simple or is the employer required to do something? If the employer never filled out any forms for them, will they (the employer) be in trouble if the income is filed? Is it just silly to claim such a small amount of income? Better safe than sorry, I think.
