I was approached (while I was at a Walmart, nonetheless) by someone who asked me if I was looking for a career in finance. Strange, but this isn't the first time I've been approached like this.He talked about how debt among Canadians is huge, and we spoke for a bit.

I asked him if he had a card, but he didn't. He just scribbled Citigroup's website URL on the paper, and his contact info.

He then gave me his E-mail address. It's hosted by Hotmail. Alarm bells were already ringing.

When I called him, he then told me about Primerica, a branch of Citigroup. He was incredibly vague about what I'd be doing, or even what my job title would be. From there, we scheduled an interview. I Googled Primerica, and while lots of people insist it's a scam, an equal number of people are steadfast in defending it as a legitimate business opportunity.

Anyone have experience with these guys? Are they another Cutco?

I am buying a new car and found cheaper rates than Geico with Allstate. Problem is, I am one month into a six month term for my old car. I have already paid for the six month term. Will Geico have to refund my money if I were to switch?

I have a list of stocks tracked in my portfolio in MSN Money. I noticed there is this feature called stockscouter ratings which you can see when you click on the page and enter the stock ticker symbol individually. But this is inefficient as I would have to enter each of my stock and see the rating one at a time. After navigating the MSN Money site, I still cannot find a way to see my portfolio of stocks WITH the stockscouter ratings beside each of the stock. Then this way, I can view the ratings for all my stocks at a glance.

Hope someone knows how to achieve this and can help.

Thanks.

I heard I can do two things to increase my return, one is to write of my medical expenses like copays, deductibles met, Rx copays and I also heard since I live in Texas I can also write off sales taxes from groceries and such? I am a single Mom and I really want to try and figure this out. My dad plans to file my taxes for me with Turbo tax, but has not heard of these deductions before.

Our apartment manager is billed from the city for our utilities and then directly bills us for that amount. There was an extremely high bill of $600 last month and myself and my three roommates were billed for that amount. The city came out and read the meter and said that the meter was correct, however a city official also said that the thermostat in our apartment was broken. Our manager then purchased a new thermostat for us. We asked that some compromise be made on the bill, being as the broken thermostat was not our fault and we could not correctly regulate the thermostat because it was broken. Our manager is refusing to do this saying that it is our fault that the bill was so high because we incorrectly set the thermostat and is now saying that the thermostat was not defective. The manager claims he has spoken with the owner of the apartments and will not let us speak to the owner directly. How do we go about handling this dispute or filing a complaint?

You're the youngest and newest in a professional teamwork environment. Management has pressured you into accepting a leadership position for the group because no one else is stepping up. You're not sure if accepting the new position will create any tension among your peers. You're afraid that your friendship before will not be the same after being their new boss. What now? Pass up the oppportunity or stay put. New position will bring more $ and responsibilities and lots more headache. Current position is worry free.

An offer has been made for $10,000 less than what I bought my house for. In the Michigan economy, this is not suprising. If I take it, I will break even on what I owe, but have to pay the realtor fee and transfer tax. This leaves me with having to take a check to closing, but also the possibility of having to take out a separate loan to cover the difference. What sort of loan can help me do this, or should I hold on in anticipation that I can put more equity into the house. I'm not anticipating that the home will go up in value, but I am hoping that it will at least stay the same in three years.

Trying to do my taxes and a bit confused on what is considered a tax credit for the Hope Credit or Lifetime Credit. My qualified tuition and expenses are $3176.00 while the Scholarships/Grants is 2901.00. The difference is 275$. I did a student loan for $1750. Im not paying anything on the loan yet, im still in school. But my question is what do I get back? I understand you get money back on a loan, but not the scholarships if they are directed towards the tuition and expenses. I know the Hope Scholarship is directed towards to tuition, but not sure about the Pell. Im sure its a dumb longshot, but what if I claim my loans towards the tuition rather than the Pell? I've read all sorts of sources, but nothing really explains what is "priority" payment on tuition over another type of payment. Its probably more SAFE to just claim the 275$ on loans....GIVE ME SOME ADVICE! Thanks!

I was thinking about starting a business planning kids parties. I do really unique things and would charge about $600 on average for a party. Would you pay someone to organize, personalize and clean up for your kids birthday? This would include everything from Invitations, partybags, decorations, games, setup, cleanup and entertainment.
