I worked at an international organization (outside US) and was gettng my salary from US . what should i do when i file taxes?

The United States government taxes worldwide income of its citizens.

If your income is from an American source, you are required to file a 1040 but if however you also file and pay a foreign country income tax you are allowed a credit for any and all taxes paid to that country. Consult your tax man for further details...or call the IRS
