Maybe. If you itemize, and deduct sales tax instead of state and local taxes, then you can add the sales tax on the car to the amount on the table for your state/income level/family size to calculate your sales tax deduction.

If you don't itemize, or if you deduct state and local taxes rather than sales tax, then no, you don't get any deduction for buying a new car.

If the car is electric or a hybrid, then there's an energy tax credit.

But....you may be able to deduct the sales tax paid on the car if you choose to deduct your state sales tax instead of your state income tax.

I don't think so. Unless maybe they give you some kind of credit for buying a hybrid car or solar car. But I don't think they do.
