I want to learn about tax...not to get a career in tax but just to understand what's on my W2 form and all the very basic stuff. I have no clue what's on my W2 form, deductions, allowance etc. Do you know where or how I can learn about it?

I have always used Turbotax in the past while only having a few minor questions about additional deductions. In 2006 I got divorced, sold my house and bought another house, got a new job, etc. Lots of life changes and I was wondering if it might be better to go to a professional vs. doing it myself this year? Can Turbotax handle these easily? Live in PA if it makes any difference.

I recently turned 19 and this is my first time filing taxes. I would ask help from my mom, but she gets too frustrated when it comes to taxes. In 2006 I had 2 different jobs.. one job I made less than $1400 and the other was about the same. so all together i made maybe $3000.. if that. lol so i desperately need help. what forms do i use? can i do it online? if so, what websites would you recommend? what will i need? yes, my mom still claims me as a dependent because i live at home. and no i'm not a full time student.... please help! thank you!

Paying off collections, or opening a new line of credit? I have medical bills in collections ... but qualify for a credit card. Obviously both would help the best, but it will take me a while to pay it all off (thousands). Should I focus on paying it off first?

I seriously think these Yor.net guys are so greedy that they are willing to tell you anything tro get you involved in their multi-level -marketing company. Don't get me wrong though its NOT a scam or pyramid or anything like that, its just the represtative. Why are they so high pressure and talk so smooth. I mean Im already involved in a MLM company and am very successful without having to see anything like these YOR people. I just want to know if you or someone you know have been in or is still in Yor explain to me why you guys are so high pressure. I like the business plan and everything its just the representatives are giving you guys a bad name.

Is it true that if you a accept a settlement from a debt collector your credit score will decrease? I really need to know before I accept a settlement for $800 less than the amount I actually owe.

I was taking classes for pre-med but even though I got A's in my classes, i didnt care for it so I stopped taking classes for pre-med... I am so cofused on what to do with my major.. I was thinking of becoming a college professor and maybe majoring in Spanish since I speak it fluently and am also really good at the grammar part of it, but am not sure if thats a good career. CMX is 86.6% held by institutional investors. The future of CMX is in the hands of a very few people. Any whispers from portfolio managers on how they plan to vote?
