If you want 8-10% return on your investment, you will have to assume a fairly high degree of risk.

You can invest in aggressive stock funds, or speciality funds like oil & gas, health, commodities, etc. Bear in mind that as the potential for ghih returns increases, the potential for large losses also increases.

If you are risk adverse, put your money into less aggressive mutual funds, they may return 5-6% but with a far lower degree of risk.

The rate of return doesn't come from the company holding your IRA... it comes from the investment it's placed in...if you have control of that, the return is up to you...
